A very good purchase.
I love everything about this machine! After using the machine for embroidery I did some sewing and it sewed very well but the reverse function is problematic, you have to be sewing forward and reverse while sewing. It isn’t a deal breaker but now I use another machine for sewing and this one for embroidery.

Not a good machine.
I really wanted to love this machine. It has a 6x10 embroidery area and that was what I was looking for. It’s beautiful right out of the box. Sleek. Pretty. I finally figured out how to embroider a design and in the middle of it, the motor overload message popped up. I finally got the design finished. It was a simple snowflake built in design. Then I tried a name. Motor overload message twice. Needles break easily and they bend. Went through a whole package quickly. Thread bunched under bobbin. Not a good machine. Screen is in black and white and does not tell you where it is going to begin. Unless you print out the designs in color, you will not know which color to begin with or which color to change it to when it’s time for a thread change. It was cheap for the size embroidery area but if it doesn’t work well, it’s not a good deal. I used to use Singer all the time. Then went to Brother then Janome. I love the Brother and Janome. Both are very user friendly. Singer has gone way downhill on their quality. It’s a shame because they could have made this into a great embroidery machine. It looks great. Sorry to say that I had to return it.

Love this machine!
I absolutely love this machine. It is very easy to understand and very comfortable to sew with. I wouldn’t trade it for any of the higher priced machines.

Liking it more every day
I missed my Singer XL-400 so much I decided to purchase this one to be able to use the files I had for Singer. I absolutely love the larger hoop option but that's about it. With my XL-400 you can see step by step on the display & you are able to edit right on the screen. Makes it so easy to work your embroidery. Pros on the machine: I already have hundreds of files to use with it Larger hoop Easy to use easy to change the hoops size provided can enlarge pattern while hoop is on the machine (but only up to 25%) it's a Singer Cons: The display doesn't really show you the steps about to be embroidered so you proceed a bit blind. Unable to edit the steps on the machine Can't connect computer directly to the machine like with my XL-400; you need special adaptor to be able to use a USB stick I was able to unbox it and use it immediately so that is a HUGE plus, I just miss the XL-400 DISPLAY

My everyday machine
Overall, good sewing machine. I did have to set the bobbin tension for the embroidery setting which is a bit aggravating when you switch from sewing to embroidery. I suggest having an extra bobbin, one for sewing, one for embroidery.

The only thing I have disliked is the embroidery program you can not do anyrhing ...
So far loving it. The only thing I have disliked is the embroidery program you can not do anyrhing with it you actually have to buy a separate program to be able to actually do some good designs.

Great machine for the money
So far I had my machine for a month and it’s been great! Easy setup, design come out very nicely and not to heavy to move around but very stable in my opinion. For the money I think it is a great value

Don’t waist your money
I bought this machine a year and a half ago and wanted to really use it for a while before giving it a review. So here it is: It Stinks! The embroidery part worked great for a couple of months (I maybe did 15 different embroidery projects) then it started jamming up, broken thread, big knotted birds nests of thread underneath the hoop. I tried multiple different things to fix to no avail. I finally just decided to use it as a second regular sewing machine. I use it constantly because I make doll clothes that I sell on Etsy so I’m just using regular cotton fabric, regular thread, straight stitching and zigzagging, in other words “nothing fancy”. The thread jams multiple times and I have to stop, pull out seams that have been ruined, re-thread the machine over and over and over again. I’ve cleaned it, put in new needles, new bobbin cases, nothing fixes the problem. I can not wait to save up some money and just buy a Brother from Walmart and throw this thing in the trash. I wouldn’t even give it away, I wouldn’t want someone to go through this hell. Don’t Buy it!

Great all in one machine, I enjoy using this..Design could be less bulky.
I enjoy using the Singer Legacy SE300 as it has lots of stitch choices for sewing and embroidery. I found the manual to be straightforward and easily to follow and create a variety of handmade clothes. The 250 built in stitches include: 10 Onetouch basic stitches, 8 basic stitches used to mend clothes, 7 different stretch stitches, 118 decorative, 22 quilting, 30 heirloom (hand sewn techniques for delicate clothes), 14 one step buttonhole stitches, 18 satin stitches, 23 elongation stitches. Using the built in stitches by changing the appropriate presser feet was easy. The machine comes with 10 snap on presser feet that include the all purpose foot, satin foot, overcasting foot, blind hem foot, zipper foot, buttonhole foot, straight stitch foot, button sewing foot, open toe foot, parallel sewing foot, and embroidery foot. I like having the automatic thread tension adjustable, which makes sewing easy. I am glad that the machine has a built in threader. The ease of being able to operate the machine with the start and stop button without using the pedal is convenient. The five speed levels are easy to adjust by either pressing the turtle or rabbit button while it is sewing, which makes it easy to control depending on the project. The only downside of this machine and its embroidery unit is the bulky size and design, I thought the design could have been less bulky. Even young children will enjoy following the automatic directions that appear on the LCD monochrome touchscreen especially to do the 200 embroidery designs and writings by choosing the 6 alphabet font options. There are some designs built-in to the machine and others we can access using the USB stick that comes with the machine. We can save patterns that we design online through the downloadable software. The machine comes with 2 snap on embroidery hoops with the areas of 4"x4" and 10 1/4" x 6". While embroidering if we run out of bobbin, we don't have to worry about starting the design all over again as it starts from where we left off. I found the overall embroidery experience is exciting with this machine and it very enjoyable to use.

Motor seized/ No Refund yet
I wanted to like this machine But sadly after only 2 months of owning this, And using it a handful of times The motor seized Sent it back This machine although mostly plastic Seemed to embroider nicely at first It’s sad because my other Singer Embroidery machines although they work well, the embroidery was t near as perfect. So if your machine makes any kind of strange noise… send it back immediately. As the title states, no refund as of yet, All I can say is buyer beware

What a machine!
This is my forth Singer embroidery machine. I upgraded because the machines were well used and I wanted newer features. The main reason for the Legacy was because I do not need to use my computer with it. The stitching quality of the machine embroidery is excellent. I love the easy threading of the bobbin and the needle. The touchpad is great. It is very easy to choose a design or to download one onto the stick and make it. It makes machine embroidery fun!!

Very good
I have been using this for over a month now and besides for a few issues with tension and such which were new embroiderer issues it has been great! The only thing I wish was different is that clips won’t go under the free arm, so if I’m sewing a cuff I have to use pins which I hate. The file it uses for embroidery is .dst if anyone is curious, I make my own designs then put them on the thumb drive it came with and it embroiders pretty well. It would also be a plus if it had a extendable hook above the spool to have it load vertical, I use one I bought from here but it really should come with one.
