The Call of the Wild, White Fang, and Other Stories (Twentieth-Century Classics)

This was a wonderful edition of Jack London‘s best known stories. The introduction and notes were well crafted. London is an amazing author as well.

Awesome book. Happy to read with my son and re-live the stories

I was getting this novel for a friend--who I thought needed a dog (but can't keep one right now). I could have picked some cheaper versions, but I know Penguin always does a good job, so I picked this one. By the way, a beautiful story. A unique writer in American literature.

Fast shipping great price

Nice font size but last couple of pages came off. Not very strong binding. Both stories are wonderful.

This book just by chance came into my collection, and I only picked it up in passing. But what a lucky surprise this book is. "Call of the Wild" is an easy 5-stars with its lyrical final chapter. The 2 London short stories included in the collection were both excellent. "White Fang" was a mixed bag for me. At times it was brutal to read. At others, the lengthy discourse on White Fang's interactions with humans tried my patience. But overall, "White Fang" is moving as it compellingly describes the animal's experiences living in the Yukon. Highly recommended.

I read the two novels included in this collection over 50 years ago. Space my daughter loves it as much as I did. The author is one of America’s great novelists so that says it all

As a boy I was always captivated by the story of Buck and John Thornton. That mythic dog who bonded with a weathered frontiersman always enthralled my imagination! This book also contains “White Fang,” which is grittily descriptive, almost like a parable. Both dog and man are under nature’s law. These stories take me back to the innocent time of my boyhood imaginings, and make me appreciate the bond of a person and their dog. Profound, intelligent, layered prose! Full marks!

The stories in this book are fantastic and absolute must-reads, 5/5. However, the book itself is quite difficult to read due to the lack of editing and natural line breaks. The vast majority of it consists of walls of text and doesn’t account for how people's eyes naturally flow. Other than that, it's a standard paperback with decently sized letters.

Adoro Jack London, basti pensare che ho letto il richiamo della foresta 4 volte, non poteva quindi mancare la versione in lingua originale. Consigliato a chi si vuol dedicare al mondo di London I love Jack London, just think that I've read the call of the wild 4 times. The original version had not to miss, so I bought this mothertounge version and I loved it another time. I suggest it to all the people that would like to sink in the London world
