Press mode button twice,this should bring up the alarm reading.bottom sections of six boxes will show alarm settings, press start button until all symbols and letters disappear. You should now have no beeps at all.

how long is the batttery life?

As long as you don't use the back light all the time then very good life

Does it have countdown function?

No - it doesn't. Bought 2 for refereeing and had to return as no countdown.

Can a 13 year old wear this watch

As others have said, it does depend on the size of the young man. It fits comfortably on my wrist & I am 64 years old BUT BUT I am only 10 Stone 4 POUNDS so I am rather slim {Very Lucky too}
