Best Friend Deluxe Grazing Muzzle Horse

This grazing muzzle is one of the best I have ever used. My horse is 16h3" with a drafty head. He is hard on muzzles and they always give him sores. This one hasn't rubbed him at all and he hasn't managed to get it off after over a month of nightly use. I really like the clip on the side instead of velcro. I was also pleasantly surprised that it gave with an extra in case the 1st breaks. I will be slowly replacing all my horses' muzzles with these.

I love it. My horse doesn't. She is a 23 year old Fjord/Belgian, about 15 hands and weighs about 1300 lbs. She has Cushings and the vet recommended that she go out to pasture with a grazing muzzle until fall, after we found her very lame one morning. She had laminitis from the rich pasture. The first muzzle we purchased was a medium horse muzzle from a local store. It would work for a smaller muzzled horse or large pony. A large size would probably work. The sizes are not consistent from one brand to another. We went with the Draft size. The headstall fits, but she got it off the first day we turned her loose. We added her halter and a leather chin strap to hold up the front of the muzzle in place and it stays on now. After wearing it for two weeks, there is no damage to the bottom. She has tried very hard to get it off, but has failed. The vet recommended that we only let her wear it for 12 hours at night in the pasture, then take it off in the morning and give her dry hay. She is locked in the paddock during the day, since horses are less active in the day time and more active at night.

I was thrilled to receive this today & be able to turn my draft horse mare out on pasture for the whole day..... until I noticed just an hour later, she had already broken it! A plastic adjustment slide had broken & the whole throatlatch strap was now lost in the pasture. The buckle on the side is also a plastic clip type buckle... that will be the next to go I'm sure.I would not recommend this to ANY horse owner, plastic clips don't even hold on my dog's collars! It surely is not going to hold anything on a horse! The muzzle itself seems to be quite solid & fit perfectly, but now I have to figure out how to keep it on her with broken plastic clips!

the muzzle I got was not the one pictured when I clicked and purchased. the one I got did not have the halter attached but velcro to go on a horse halter. this is the SECOND time that has happened. won't get from you again.

Great muzzle, but my horse can get it off almost immediately after I put it on him.
