This was recommended by our veterinarian to help our dog digest his food better. And I do definitely notice a difference with our dog. His tummy doesn't rumble as much after he eats, which means (well, I guess what it means would be up to the vet). But anyway, our dog is more comfortable, definitely. If you suspect tummy issues or especially when your dog is aging, I know digestive enzymes are more helpful to an aging dog. So consider this because our vet clinic uses this. Great stuff.

I've given this to my dogs for many years. It works wonders firming up stool and minimizing stool odor. The only thing I don't like currently is the price. It used to be very affordable, but it's quickly becoming price prohibited.

We give this to our dog because of digestive issues. Prozyme was recommended by our vet. Prozyme has helped Zoey’s (our dog) digestive issues. She occasionally has an issue but has improved since starting Prozyme.

The situation is that I have a parrot who has been diagnosed with terminal metastized cancer. He was losing weight - At one point as much as 20 grams a day, despite being given a standard diet with a bunch of treats, all he could eat. His digestive system had been affected by the cancer - and he needed something that could be digested more easily. Get a lot of 2-3 ounce semi-disposable containers. You will use one of these per serving. Try to get the microwavable ones. Mix the folllowing: 3 cans garbonzo beans, including the liquid content. 2/3 lb egg noodles, smaller the better. 1/2-2/3rds cup chunky peanut butter. 1/2 cup cherry pie filling, or cherry syrup, for flavor and sweetness and added sugar. Mix it up (do not mash the beans, but incorporate the peanut butter into the various liquids) and simmer it for a very long time - the noodles will form a paste with the peanut butter. I've cooked it for a couple hours, cooled it overnight and cooked it for a couple more hours. Put it in the 2-3 ounce containers and freeze them. When ready to serve, give each packet a minute in the microwave, then put it in the bird's dish. Let it cool to room temperature before serving and then dust it with about a quarter teaspoon Prozyme. Using this has my parrot up to his usual weight. He eats all he wants - then the dog gets the rest. It is offered in two feedings, 12 hours apart and the dog eats the leftovers. The vet has also prescribed antibiotics and anti-fungals to get us past the secondary infections which are applied to the food as dust with the prozyme. I hope this helps - I was worried that I'd be tube feeding him because there was no food that he woujld just eat that would keep weight on him. The vet came up with the garbonzo beans and pasta and I added the peanut butter - the cherry syrup was at a friend's suggestion because in her opinion and experience, her blue front amazons liked cherry flavors. And he has gained back over 100 grams. I'm on my fifth batch. He gets nothing but this and prozyme and occasional treats. He might live for months - he seems happy. I believe that the prozyme really helps the digestability of the mix.

One of my dogs is prone to loose stools more often than I would like. I've found that adding Prozyme to each meal has GREATLY decreased the incidence of loose stools and is of great benefit.
