I just received the switch and did not install it yet but wanted to comment on two things. Mounting hardware is not included and was a bit of a surprise but I do understand that it depends on what you’re mounting to. I guess I was thrown by the hexagonal depressions in the plastic and the fact that most mounts would be into something in the 1/16 to 1/8” range. Not the end of the world and I certainly am not going to reduce the rating over that. My application will be on a boat so stainless fasteners will be what I use. The second is in response to another review stating the plastic housing cracked. Without knowing for sure but based on the feel, I think this is a thermoset/Phenolic material, hard and brittle. The other comment mentioned a blemish on the molded housing. A blemish on an injected product can indicate a turbulence in the molding process meaning the plastic starts to solidify before the mold is fully filled thus keeping the molecules from adhering . That turbulence can be caused by a couple things but for the product itself, it mans that it creates layers or a lamination effect with molten plastic flowing over material that has already set, ultimately weakening the surface. Point is: blemish of any injected plastic, thermoplastic or thermoset, can weaken the part causing it to delaminate and fail. Use extra care when tightening fasteners on or around plastics with a blemished surface.

First, I will say the quality of the item seems good. I suspect my unit had a blemish or unseen crack. For a $40 product I can see needing to replace it on occasion (hopefully 5+ years of life in it). Yet mine didn't last a minute...I'm doing a complete re-wire. Two months into the project and this isolator was one of the final items to get hooked up. Unit (the four position model, 1/2/1+2) was flush mounted to the console. Output cable, check! #1 Input, check! #2 Input, hrm feels loose even though nut seems firm (difficult to SEE it from my outside the console position). Cable lug definitely slightly gives on the fastener. Tighten a bit more, maybe 20lbs of force, SNAP.I can only assume the plastic housing was cracked, or had a flaw or weakness in it, for it to give way how it did. I wasn't using that much force.Downside is I've drilled out the console for the flush mount (Blue Sea isolator mounted *inside* the console), one big hole, 4 small holes.Unfortunately I'm just going to order another one because the job needs to get finished. I'll have to fish around in the future for a replacement that can utilize the existing holes I've made.2 stars for now, if the next one holds up better I'll try to return to adjust my review.Edit:Next purchased identical item installed flawlessly and working as expected. 4-stars!

Don’t use the cheap stuff they can’t handle current of starting or the cycle of on off of motors

Fit the same as old one.

Pay attention to where the leads go to. Not what you think they would be. The marina I used broke one of the studs.

A quality built product from Blue Seas. I am adding a second battery bank to my RV, this worked well to replace the original Blue Seas 2 position switch- same size and hole as the old one.
