how about a cadi norhtstar engine?

Yes. No problem with the Northstar engine. Use Purple Ice as directed on the bottle.

will this be ok for my 2008 ford edge v6?

I have used it for years in all my vehicles and am yet to replace a water pump or a radiator. It will work just fine in your 2008 Edge.

How can I replace it annually do you add a bottle every year or change the coolant with it ?

You can just add more each year, then start over again when you do your periodic coolant flush.
