Yes, it makes coffee dust, yes the coffee made with it is a cut above, yes you have to clean it, yes it's awesome. The beautiful workmanship, and aestheic is fabulous. If you love good coffee, do yourself a favor. With the same beans (amount and kind) the grind had more quality foam, and the aroma was striking. The taste, divine. Having used a blade type grinder for a long time, I am duly impressed. Will update with durability information as time passes.

I can say that this is the last coffee grinder I will have to buy! You can tell right away that every care has been taken in the manufacture of this superb machine. The instructions were clear and simple to follow. In a world of mass production it is nice to find hand- made craftsmanship. Worth every penny

The Good The grinder shipped quickly and was well packaged. Assembly was minimal and easy. Operation was straight forward and grind adjustment was easy and consistent. noise was much less than the "Chopper" style grinder this unit replaced. Very Happy with the unit! The Bad Price $$$, but you get what you pay for! More of nit picking is the fact that it takes much longer to clean up than it takes to grind and make a pot of coffee. The coffee dust goes everywhere and sticks to everything. Set up a tray to grind on to contain the dust and wipe off when done.

The delivery was fast. The grinder arrived in great shape. The grinder it's self is quiet and fast. I like the look of it. I had questions about it that were answered fairly quickly. I'm a happy coffee fiend.

I received my grinder and the coffee tasted horrible. I finally realized that the burr set was poorly aligned and I was getting an uneven grind. I also noticed that the mesh filter for the sifter was missing or not included. Had to buy one to improve the quality of my coffee. The coffee improved significantly after alignment and getting a proper sifter. If you prefer not to align your grinder then I suggest you stay away from this grinder. Otherwise it's it can make decent coffee if you put some work in.
