Disappointed no train to activate sound

Having read previous reviews about the battery compartment I was concerned. When it arrived I slapped in some batteries, pressed power and nothing. I thought that's a shame. Then I read the instructions. Unlike any other Brio train we have you have to press and hold the power button until it says woohoo. That's about 3 seconds. It's alot of fun with the app and sounds, a big hit with our toddler. We bought at £18 which is a bargain. It's £13 while I write this!! Probably the best brio train.

It didn't work. Just ordered another one, and if that one doesn't work I will keep it to use as a regular train station, as it was a good price. Will return broken one.Brio quality is going downhill, I purchased the Adventure Tunnel (from elsewhere) and that didn't work either. Its supposed to make 3 different sounds (which isn't even mentioned on the box) but makes one very faint humming sound. Even brio trains can get stuck in this tunnel sometimes, it's poor design, needs to have more clearance. Very disappointed with Brio quality now.I won't be buying anymore Smart Tech, it's not reliable or worth it. The best are the simple brio trains that fit the people inside, and my son loves taking the people in and out.Brio need to up their quality and design better, it's expensive for failing products.
