The Pauline Paradox: What Did Paul Teach About the Law of God?

This is a great read and will definitely make the Apostle Paul more understandable. Every Christian needs to read this, because, frankly, I’ve yet to meet a pastor who understands what Paul is actually talking about. Most Christians try to understand the Bible with no context to the original traditions and culture at the time. Paul was Jewish, he was not Christian, so in order to understand Paul you need to see his writings through a Jewish lens. Paul is not easy to understand, even Peter says so in his writings.119 ministries does a great job of breaking down the most misunderstood and confusing aspects of Paul in a way that everyone will understand. In order to have an effective apologetics regarding Paul and Torah observance in the New Testament, read this book! I would buy this book for any of my friends who wanted to truly understand both Paul and the early church.

I appreciate the scripturally supported as well as scholarly quotes to support arguments and interpretative perspectives in defence against the false accusation that Paul taught against obedience to the Torah of God. There are a couple of places where I felt more time could be spent to drive the argument home and to draw the net wider or cover more ground, but I also understand this is a topical study and is probably meant to help believers take a deeper look at Paul's doctrine during their own studies. Ultimately it is up to each one to go and rethink and review and test their own understanding. For that reason, this little resource is very valuable. I feel I might need to read this book another 2 or 3 times to get the best out of it. Well done 119 Ministries.

Every Christian should read and understand that the writer of the majority of the New Testament: Paul, really taught that God's instructions for humankind were not done away with at the cross, as many churches teach. They bring blessing to the whole World, and every nation that teaches, and walks out God's instructions found in the whole word of God from Genesis to Revelation. Great reference for everyone.

I was beginning to think that Paul was either schizophrenic or a false prophet. This book makes it plain to me the anti-Jewish attitudes from antiquity are still prevalent in Christianity today. Christian theologians only preach about the things Paul say bad about the law, while not pointing out that he is talking about the law of sin and the law of sin and death. They never mention how he defended the law of God and how, in the book of Acts, he defended himself to the Jews as never going against the Torah. Mt. 7: 21-23

Most believers struggle with Pauls's writing because they seem to "sometimes" be in opposition to God's Law (the foundation of all of the scriptures) and the book of James and the life of Jesus Himself.It is because we are reading him with the mindset that the Law of God is not for us, but was for them.This book clears up so much of the confusion that "religion" and traditions have brought. Highly recommend!!!

This was a very helpful book!When I finally realized God's law is still relevant for my life as a believer in Christ, I had a lot of Paul's writings that I needed to reexamine and take a closer look at the context. This book was a huge help for me in looking over some of the most misapplied verses in all scripture. I just can't thank you enough for writing this!I do hope in the future the author would consider a consumable workbook to go along with it. This would be extremely helpful for both individuals as well as group studies.

Very good book! A lot more condensed than all the teachings that inspired it, but definitely good to get someone started. I like the teachings more, but I also like the books better than the movie versions (most of the time) and that’s what this seemed like; the movie or reader’s digest condensed version. That’s fine, but for me, the longer version is better. Lol
