I bought this base coat and top coat in place of the standard Barry M version that I normally buy. The quality seems to be so much better. I actually used this with a normal Barry M nail polish as a base coat and a top coat and I have to say I've never had nail polish last so long without a single chip. I've done the usual washing up, washed my hair, had showers and it hasn't budged. The consistency is a lot more liquid than the usual one. It's less thick, and I think maybe this helps with the thinner application, which stops it from smudging or peeling as easy. But I would absolutely recommend this!

Nails

I’ve been using this for nearly a year now, and I must say it’s absolutely amazing. I’m not a fan of coloured nail polish and just prefer a natural, glossy finish. Over the years, I’ve tried countless high-end polishes, all promising that perfect shine, but they always fall short—chipping after just a day or two. However, this product has been a game-changer. I find applying two coats more effective, and I usually allow 30 minutes for my nails to fully dry. Not only does it give my nails that healthy, natural gloss I love, but it also allows them to breathe, which is crucial for maintaining their strength and health. The best part? It lasts nearly a week without chipping! I couldn’t be happier with this fantastic find.

I use breathable nail varnish and this is my go to brand. I highly recommend.

I have not been particularly impressed by this polish though perhaps I was rather expecting too much from it. Although it is fairly glossy on first applying, I've found it needs several coats to look really good and takes quite a while to dry between applications. As for longevity - it really doesn't stay on very well and seems quite pale and dull after only a short while. (Mind you, I've only been using it on its own as both base and top coat.) I'm not sure that it lives up to its boast of being 'breathable' though - my nails seemed in an even worse condition when taking the polish off, which in itself was a difficult task as much of it remained stubborn and refused to be removed with my usual nail polish remover! I honestly can't recommend this product unfortunately. So disappointing, as I had high hopes for it.
