Cost & quality
I recieved my blankets i got two of them. The quality is great well made tuff. Its wool so it is some what soft comes with a chemical smell to it though. It all came out in the washer though after the first time. I keep one on the back of my couch for snuggel time. Its thick warm and a lil heavy but nit really i like that about it cause it feel slike a warm hug. I also keep one in my car for just incase emergencies. I highly recomend this product great price great Quality thgese things will last forever if you treat them right.

Smooth, but thin…STILL WORTH IT.
Folks, this blanket is really, really, thin. Still, I issue all available stars because product description is factual and I believe this really is 80% wool. Though mine is only a twin size, it is remarkably heavy. Texturally speaking, it feels like wool and it behaves like wool. I give this blanket my highest endorsement because I know this blanket will meet the needs I expected to. I think the value is absolutely incredible considering that wool, or an 80% wool blanket, will predictably accomplish the following for me: 1. Maintain a body heat, even when wet. 2. Unless wholly mistreated, this is a timeless fiber. 3. Will snuff out fires, acting as a fire blanket. Considering what I paid for this, I think it is a worthy and sensible investment.

Everything as advertised
It originally had a funky chemical smell from the fire retarded but that dissipated in a week or two. It's a nicely sized blanket, pleasantly scratchy hefty wool, and so far it hasn't retained any negative smells. In the time that I've had it, the only "cleaning" it received was an hour or two on the clothesline to "air out" just before the winter months. It's a good, heavy, classic style Army blanket.

Perfect for Camping and Cold Weather, Super Warm and Durable
This wool blanket is dense, warm, and holds up well to outdoor elements- so it's a great choice for camping, keeping as a just-in-case blanket for the car, or even in place of a duvet. I've used it both outside and inside, and it really holds up well against the sun, water (when I forget it outside during a storm), and cold/windy days. It doesn't hold smells long, at least as far as I've seen, but I do air it outside a lot. Not the softest wool blanket, but it has softened more after several months of use, and it's a great quality for the price. While I've used it myself in order to fully review it, I actually purchased this for my cats. They absolutely LOVE this wool blanket. As soon as I put it down they're all over it. They use it as a bed, play with it like a toy, and climb across like spider monkeys or do zoomies through it when it's draped over something. I also used it as a crate cover and it works great since it big and heavier than a typical blanket, making it easy to place over the crate without too much sliding. As a crate cover it blocked out pretty much all light (I bought a darker color), so the cats can have a nice dark area for sleeping/hiding. One downside it that is does shed like crazy while being washed (but that's pretty typical of the wool products I've gotten). I first handwashed it with Woolite, and it shed a ton. Then washing machine, and it shed all over the washer (though not as much as the first wash). Shedding isn't nearly as bad after the first few washings. As a warning, it's super heavy when soaking wet. Overall I'm very happy with this product and plan on purchasing another soon! Edit: Still a great product after 1 year of use, no issues with fabric or stitching even with cats clawing all over it. The charcoal black color has only faded a little while being in the sun and outdoor elements pretty much 24/7. The 2nd blanket I got in green shed A LOT less compared to the previous one I bought. I'm thinking the new blanket design sheds less than before, which is great. I also used 2 blankets to help keep a feral cat I trapped and spayed warm during the nights until I released it, to cover both the trap and crate and keep the heat in. Worked fantastic! Going to buy another before the winter cold sets in this year.

Good stuff.
They do smell funny, but if you do the washing directions, they come out nice and soft and smelling not like a fire blanket...very generous size, fast shipping thoroughly happy

Wash before using.
I love love love my blankets. They are extremely warm and soft. I did wash them in cold water and rinsed in Downy and dried them on a very low setting. They had a funky odor that mostly came out. After washing they were so much softer.

Extremely strong Chemical Odor
This product arrived as described with exception to one thing. The blankets were treated with a chemical that is extremely strong and can be noticed through the heavy, plastic wrapping. It is overwhelming and I will not open the packaging in the house. I have not touched the blankets directly, to evaluate the feel of the fabric. I am concerned it may be toxic, perhaps like a forever chemical, that was sprayed onto it to make it either fire retardant or waterproofing them. In the spring, I will open the packaging outdoors and let them air out for as long as necessary. Once I have aired this out, if possible, I will evaluate its usability. I will determine if it is water repellent and if it is usable in any way. Right now, I’m thinking it may work as a tarp. Buyer beware. I don’t think this blanket should be near people or animals right out if the packaging and I do not advise to open it in confined spaces. I can’t evaluate the warmth, texture of the fabric, loft, size or any other aspect until it is aired out!!! Because of this, I am giving it one star.

War mehrfach im WInter draussen, habe bei Minusgraden damit am Feuer gesessen. Auch die größe ist für mich mit meine 1,90 echt super. Im Zelt als Unterlage, oder im Schlafsack mollig warm. Bin sehr zufrieden. Geruch ist störend finde ich.

Blanket is a bit heavier than you might expect (that took me by surprise), but man, does this thing do it's job or what. I'm currently using it to build layers inside my sleeping bag as I survive the winter here in Melbourne, Australia as a swagman. For those who don't know the parlance, that means I'm homeless and survive by stealth camping in the bush. I live out of my swag. Hence, the term, 'swagman.' Anyway, this blanket has been tested so far against rising cold in a camping hammock with a sleeping bag and just this blanket. Temps dropped to about 2 degrees Celsius, and Melbourne winters never get colder than 0 degrees Celsius (we don't use Fahrenheit in Australia, but I know this is an American product and a lot of you buying are going to be Yankees, not Aussies like me. 0 degrees Celsius translates to 32 degrees Fahrenheit), so I would say that's pretty good quality. I highly recommend this army blanket.
