Dr. Harvey's Specialty Diet Healthy Weight Chicken Recipe, Human Grade Dehydrated Dog Food with Chicken, Trial Size (5.5 Ounces)

My Vet suggested that I try Dr. Harveys Vege To Bowl. I did try it but then noticed that a weight loss formula was available so I tried it. I believe I am on my 4th, 5# bag. I could NOT get the weight off of my Sheltie with any of the weight loss kibble foods. He has arthritis in his elbows, so I needed to get serious. He is losing slowly BUT he is losing so I am thrilled. I don't have to limit him to tiny amounts anymore. He gets enough with Dr. Harveys to satisfy and I feel better about my dog on a healthier food. It's easy to make, just add hot water and let it sit. A detailed pamphlet is inside the bag to guide you. I called them once and they promptly answered. I also have a VERY fussy 168 pound dog and use some to mix with his kibble. He LOVES it and I don't need to try all kinds of canned food to get him to eat. Another plus is that their stools are firmer. If I could afford it, both of my boys would be strictly on Dr. Harvey's.

First, let me say this I s not the first Dr. Harvey’s product that I have purchased for my dog.Previously, I was purchasing Oracle Chicken or Beef for a few years and was happy. My dog liked it, his poop was regular and how it should be, and he seemed to be thriving. But I saw this new product and saw it promoted weight loss and thought, well my dog isn’t obese, but could stand to lose a pound or two. He is a tweenie dachshund, weighing in at 14lbs and could be around 12lb. I figured let’s try this food.WRONG! Do not buy!!!Since I started this food, my dog has become “crazy.” He’s constantly hungry, to the point that he acts like he hasn’t eaten in years. He tries to eat through the garbage, he tries to eat any food left on a plate out on a table, he’s tried to eat crumbs and dirt off the floor, etc. Previously, he was fine. He never did this with the old food.He also started acting strange. I would say maybe because he’s getting older and going senile, but that’s not it. It’s something in the food. I don’t know what it is, but it’s definitely the food.Pros: My dog likes the taste.Cons: It will literally make your dog crazy.

I really wanted to like this but my puppers didn’t. The packaging is good. The dry product seems great with very good content. I mixed the warm water in and could instantly smell salty chicken broth. After it cooled down it smelled like curry. My dogs wouldn’t touch it but they are finicky. Too much spice. I think this needs more product development but it’s on the right track. I would suggest you try it with your dog first as my pups are spoiledI read the ingredients list and am very impressed.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  I purchased this product after looking at the ingredients because my Rescue Chiweenie Brad who is about 13 just got diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the mouth and I am truly devastated I’ve been using this product along with CBD oil and some other supplements but this product is truly amazing he has looked better recently than in years and has crazy energy and seems to be in the best spirits he’s been in in a long time so I’m hoping that if your dog has the same issues and you’re thinking about using a product this is the one to choose. I hope my bread will be cured or at least the tumor will shrink enough to have surgery I will update after his two month visit in about one month thank you Dr. Harvey’s for giving my boy some hope he deserves it.

I was having problems finding the right food for my dog who has allergies & seems to react with constant ear infections. After trying almost all specialty foods this one so far is working. My other dog has come down to a better weight which has been a challenge. The only suggestion I will make is I need larger bags since I have 3 dogs. I have order almost weekly in order to keep it stocked.

My dog has been on this food for a month now and I can honestly say that he has more energy and wants to play with my other dog a lot more than before. He has epilepsy and he needs a low carb food with nothing added and no rosemary.

The concept of the dog food is great. My dogs want to eat early in the morning and waiting for it to thicken was a little hard.After ordering two bags my one dog that has a weight problem, started sneezing a lot with this food. I ended up sending it back because it is pretty expensive and I had those issues with it.

My 2 dogs LOVE Dr Harvey’s! They are currently on the weight management (got a teeny bit fluffy), but this is not bland food. They love the taste and I never have to worry about dangerous ingredients. Their coats look better than ever, their weight back where should be and they are both healthy!
