This book is well worth the price paid. Although written for advanced players, an intermediate player with good sight reading abilities can excel with these arrangements with proper practice.The selection of songs is varied and interesting. Dan Coates' arrangements are wonderful, they have a deep, rich, professional quality. I particularly like "With a Song in My Heart", this arrangement can make an average player sound impressive. I strongly recommend this book.

I did not like the songs as much as i thought I would. It is still is a good addition to the music collection.

The songs are well arranged and pianistic. Great for early advanced students and even the pros. Lots of chords, octaves and arpeggios. Very nice.

I would consider this Intermediate level. Embraceable You on pages 6 to 9 with 48 measures, goes up and down the scale with the left hand instead of chords while the right had plays most of the melody. Another song "Falling In Love with Love" is a little easier with only a few notes for the left hand and some chords in the right hand. The song "So In Love" has even more scales for the left hand going up and down. There is no CD with this music, which would have been helpful. Nice music, but difficult to play.

A favorite book of mine...not too challenging but still sounds great!

I bought this publication on the basis of its title -which includes the word "songbook". Now, anyone withany knowledge of such things knows that a tune is a melody and the lyric is the wordy bit that tells the story. Combined they become a "song". It is likely, is it not, that I was justified in assuming that thiswould apply to this publication? But I was to beseriously disappointed. The entries are all music - for playing - with NO lyrics shown for any entry.On that basis, it is incorrect to refer to it as a "songbook" in my view. How can you "sing" words thatdo not appear? The overall quality of this softbackproduct is otherwise good. It's just a pity it didn'tprovide what it promised.
