Orkney Dark Island Reserve 330ml

There is no way one can elaborate on the sheer magnificence of this beer - far better than the ordinary Dark Island (the recipe of which is watered down - stick a shot of Ribena in it to see what it used to taste like).The Dark Island reserve may be 10%, but in reality in the drinking, it could be triple this. It is very, very potent, and also extraordinarily delicious.

I’ve been looking for this for a very long time but always put off by the £12 postage when ordering from the brewery. This supplier charged half of that and it arrived within a few days and securely packed, no complaints there. The beer itself was an anticlimax nothing at all wrong with it but to me it isn’t anything out of the ordinary specially at £9 a bottle. There are beers available much better than this and a lot cheaper.

Rich, almost chocolate flavour, a really nice 'deep' ale for sipping (its not a quaffer) and savouring. Not cheap but well worth the money.
