BellinoAnchovy Fillet

The four glass jars arrived intact -- no dings or dents in the lids, no leaks -- individually wrapped in bubble wrap, then taped together for extra security. The flavor of the fillets is full, rich and deep, with a nice hint of smokiness. Of course very salty, but anchovy lovers know this. I use in sauces, casseroles, side dishes, soups, Caesar salad dressing, and pizza, all of which require some salt for fullest flavor. The benefit is that I don't need to add salt; I've got it already in the dish. These are some of the most delicious anchovies I have ever come across. You can taste the craftsmanship that went into them, the flavor is so balanced, with a sweetness that lingers on the tongue. The dainty little glass jars ensure cleanest taste with minimal chemical or metallic intrusions. Once empty, they can be cleaned and re-used for a multitude of purposes... you add nothing to the landfill! What's not to love?

Anchovies are Fresh, Moist, Semi-Translucent, Not too salty, just right and good quality olive oil, very few bones❗️👍👍

I used the anchovies on a pizza. The flavor was ok but not quite as salty as I like. The big problem was the anchovies would not come out of the jar in tact. They came apart and turned into mush when trying to get them out of the jar. I had to put little "globs" of anchovy on the pizza. If you could recommend another brand of anchovy that would come apart in whole pieces, I would certainly buy them.

This was a repeat purchase. This time the box was too large for the product. The two jars were each individually wrapped in one layer of bubble wrap. It looks like they bounced around, the lid on one came lose, and it lost some olive oil which saturated the box. The other lid remained tight. The product is not returnable, so there's probably little incentive to do a better job of packing. I do NOT fault the delivery service-unless it's the same service that packed the box. No glass breakage. The product is probably OK ( short time, salt, olive oil, nothing could leak into the jar), but I'm not so sure I want to take the chance.

It is very convenient to have a larger quantity of anchovies in a resealable bottle, as opposed to tins which, when opened, or messy to keep around.Flavor of these is acceptable though not superior. They are very salty. They hold together reasonably well, but are a bit fragile to chop easily.
