Would this work pressed into clay?

Yes, any soft medium (clay/wax/dough/thick wet paint) will work. The image was nice and clear when used.

In the images, there are two colors on the stamp (red background and gold moon/stars). How would you do that? Are you painting gold on after it dries?

Use one color wax and a paint marker to lightly go over the raised parts

It's well made.

It's well made and looks good enough to leave out on your desk.

Don't leave it in water!

Worked amazingly! Looks great! Definitely use a very shallow water with ice cube dish to keep it cold, and make sure to unscrew and dry the wood piece after. It's not sealed (haha punny) to protect from extended (and I mean I accidentally left it for hours after I was done) water exposure.
