Julia Donaldson's Songbirds Read with Oxford Phonics 36 Books Collection Set (Stage 1 - 4)

So, we have always had Julia Donaldson books, we have the collection, when I was purchasing phonics books for my daughter, I didn’t realise that she did those too, and I’m so, so pleased with this collection. Plenty of stages to use from beginner to advanced, they grow with your child. It’s the perfect set. The illustration and font is absolutely perfect, these books have been designed perfectly for children. They are easily read, and perfect for phonics sounding. I’m so, so glad I purchased this collection, it’s worth every penny.

Fantastic books, my child really enjoyed the variety. However just be aware that stage 4 is actually level 6 in Oxford reading so it’s actually really quite confusing to work out what books are needed after these ones due to the level system not being clear. Feel like it’s really testing my ability to be an adult!!

Wow these books are brilliant, my granddaughter is reading them already. We thought she may have difficulty but the way they are written, it is very easy to do the pronunciation correctly, and you really get a lot of books from stage 1 - 4, if you are thinking of getting these books, don’t hesitate they are very good value for money, I am really happy with them

Great books but I have two copies of one book and am missing another. Frustrating that the seller didn’t check the item before sending it out and I don’t have any way of contacting them so they can rectify

Great books, my 5 year old really enjoys reading through the different stages. Would highly recommend for early readers.

I bought these to assist my son now he is at primary school. I found the books he was bringing home looked old and they seemed to send the same ones. He loves the variety of these stories. The pictures are so vibrant and they are really helping his development.

My children absolutely love these books, they are colourful and bright and most importantly have great stories that my children all love to read. So much better than the readers that get sent home from school which tend to be a little dull. Well worth the investment. The only criticism I have is that the plastic pocket the books come in was damaged and broken when it arrived as others have also experienced. This packaging should be improved as it holds the books together and protects them when not in use.

These readers are delightful! The stories make sense, are interesting, and are often funny. So many early reader books have no narrative arc and are either boring or ridiculous or both. These books have clear targeted reading skills that are presented in engaging, amusing stories. We have always been a fan of Julia Donaldson and have enjoyed her classics “Room on the Broom” and “The Gruffalo” but somehow hadn’t heard of her Songbird readers. I’m so glad we stumbled upon them. My kids love them. Do yourself and your young reader a favor and buy them now. You won’t regret it!

Product and packaging were nicely packaged in the box. Books were well received in good condition. I was so excited to receive the books but upon opening the package, the folder was left open and button was defective. Hopefully in future there won’t be such incidents again.
