follow the directions and be happy
this is a very nice product and it works just as it says it does. the wash part of the product in my opinion is great. it will probably handle a quantity of something for four people. I am single so it is fine for me. I have made French fries, baked potatoes, roasted potatoes, chicken legs, thighs and breast in an egg and bread crumb coating, two crusted apple pie and a cake. you do have to do some experimenting when you first start. I have had mine for 6 weeks now. this is what I basically use. pop corn does work but not that well, it leaves to many unfinished kernels. it fits very well on my counter top. but if you have a small counter there maybe a problem. you do have to be careful when handling the glass bottom when cleaning but when you use the wash system it is very easy to rinse out. I also find that the underneath is easier to keep clean using the wash system. use a damp cloth or paper towel and wipe off real good every time and it stay relatively clean. the clean up is not hard at all. be very careful when using frozen foods if one of the items like chicken happens to fall to the bottom when turning over it will cause the glass to crack. also make sure when you go to use the washing system that your glass has cooled off or when you fill it with about 2 inches of water you do it with hot water so the glass does not crack. if you operate this product right you should have no problems. the only con I have with this product is there are not any kind of parts available. you can pickup a ring, a halogen light bulb and racks ect. on ebay. other then the light bulb the others don't wear out unless you want extras. the thing I don't understand is how a company is allowed to put a product on the market without part backup??? the different excuses about the thing being heavy is semi true but you only basically handle one piece at a time, bowl or top and it is really no big deal. just use the product as designed no more no less and you will be happy. I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE AN UPDATE: FOR WHAT EVER REASON MY BOWL CRACKED. I CALLED THE 800 NUMBER. SPOKE TO A YOUNG LADY GIVING ALL MY INFO. WAS TOLD YOU WILL RECEIVE NEW BOWL FREE REPLACEMENT IN 2 WEEKS. TWO WEEKS PASSED SO I WAITED. THIS MORNING I RECEIVED MY FIRST NOTIFICATION SINCE I TALKED WITH THE PERSON. MY ORDER HAS BEEN SHIPPED AND THEY GAVE ME A FED EX NUMBER WHICH I CHECKED OUT IMMEDIATELY AND IT IS VALID. SO YOU CAN REACH A CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON. IT WAS 3 DAYS PAST THE 2 WEEK MARK. FROM THE WEIGHT LISTED AT FED EX AND PACKAGE SIZE SOMETHING TELLS ME THEY ARE SENDING A WHOLE NEW UNIT. I STILL STAND BY THE UNIT. I HAVE COOKED AND BAKED WITH IT, NO PROBLEMS. BUT UNTIL MORE UP TO DATE RECIPES FOR THIS UNIT COME TO BE ON LINE YOU ARE GOING TO ENJOY EXPERIMENTING OR MAYBE NOT. LAST UPDATE SAT. 27TH I RECEIVED MY PACKAGE OF A COMPLETE UNIT. AS YOU KNOW I ASKED FOR A NEW GLASS BOWL. FOLKS YOU CAN'T DO ANY BETTER THAN THAT FOR MAKING GOOD ON THE PRODUCT. HERE IS ANOTHER UPDATE 11/9/2017, I AM STILL USING 2-4 TIMES A WEEK WITH A CRACKED BOWL WHICH HAS NOT FALLEN APART YET. I ALSO ADDED A COUPLE OF UTENSILE TO MAKE LIFE EASIER WILTON 10 X 2 PAN WHICH YOU CAN USE FOR BAKING BUT I PRIMARILY USE FOR CATCHING DRIPS FROM COOKING. JUST RINSE AND DRY PLUS WIPE OUT BOWL AND YOUR CLEANED UP. A 10 INCH SCREEN WITH 2 INCH LEGS. GIVES HEIGHT BETWEEN LOW RACK AND HIGH RACK. SILICON 6 DONUT PAN 2. A LEG, WING AND THIGH CHICKEN RACK WHICH FITS PERFECTLY IN PAN FROM PROBLEM SOLVERS ITEM 63K72. WHENEVER I COOK I ALWAYS TRY TO THINK OF SOMETHING THAT MAKES IT EASIER. ALLTHESE ITEMS MENTIONED ACCEPT DONUT PAN WILL FIT IN BOWL FOR STORAGE ALONG WITH THE ITEMS THAT COME WITH BIG BOSS. BASICLY I COOK ON 400 DEGREES AND ALTERER THE TIMES.

Speedy, convenient & healthy
This is an amazing appliance for the price. It even dehydrates food. What we like. The BB is big and can be made bigger with the extender ring - options. It's glass and we can see everything as its cooking. This is especially nice as we learn how use this thing. Saves us from under cooking or burning food. The controls are simple and not digital. Turn 2 knobs and we're cooking already. The accessories are almost enough - more below about this. With the extender ring, it's so easy to cook/dehydrate a lot of food at once; it really amps up the volume. With the extender ring in place, the BB is big enough to roast a 16 lb turkey. OK, maybe we'll never use the wall oven ever again...lol. Although we've had the BB for less than a month, we sure hope that it lasts. We might order a second one as a back-up because it works so well and probably has built-in obsolescence. Accessories - we ordered the Sharper Image accessory package and returned it. All that we really wanted from this pack was the mesh bowl. Okey dokey, pizza screens are available from the WebStaurantStore (yes, spelled this way) online at anywhere from $1.39/ea to $2.09/ea for 10", 11" and 12" pizza screens. We have them in these 3 graduated sizes to fit in the bowl because its diameter increases from bottom to top. The 12" screen just fits inside the top of the bowl. It's a fantastic way to protect the BB's heating element from flying food like kale chips. We also bought some anodized aluminum hard pizza screens at $10.49/ea. The material is naturally non-stick, will never rust and is super rigid. We use these on both top & bottom for support. On the bottom it's with parchment paper to make clean-up a breeze. The prices on Amazon for these products are obscene even when we included WebStaurantStore shipping. Just search for pizza screens at this online retailer. Browse through the WebStaurantStore's other products to fully accessorize this model at a fraction of the cost of the accessory packages. What's more, the commercial kitchen products are much sturdier than the homemaker offerings for the air fryers. Given the BB's cooking capacity with the extender ring, we also wanted a way to stack 3 layers of food. This model has a greater cooking capacity than any other of the air fryers. At this price point it's an exceptional bargain compared to other brands. So, we ordered a some culinary mesh deep fryer baskets from WSS and the DH cut off the handles. If you don't have access to a shop, then this model with a removable handle from Amazon is also great - Best Utensils Stainless Steel Deep Fry Basket Round Wire Mesh Fruit Strainer With Resting Feet and Long Handle Frying Cooking Tool Food Presentation Tableware, 5.7 Quart . We ordered from WSS 10.5" wire steamer racks with folding legs to stack inside the BB (also stupidly expensive on Amazon). WSS online steamer racks are $1.68/ea and the legs can be removed for stacking 2 together to make the mesh smaller when set on the diagonal. Similar models are also on Amazon. Chrome-Plated Cross-wire Cooling Rack, Wire Pan Grate, Baking Rack, Icing Rack, Round Shape, 2-Height Adjusting Legs - 10 ½ Inch Diameter, Set of 3 Another mesh basket possibility for light foods like kale chips is this, back to the century, handy dandy folding mesh basket. Cooks Net - Instant Essential and Flexible Kitchen Helper . For fluffy foods like kale chips, we use a fryer basket with a pizza screen inverted on top of the fryer basket to keep the kale from flying up into the heating element. Because the fryer basket is rigid, it's easier to shake the food part way through cooking as instructed in many of the recipes. And there we have it. We love the BB and have fully tricked it out from an online commercial kitchen supplier with items that aren't necessarily air fryer accessories. WSS's 'accessory' offerings are better quality and less expensive. Happy air frying!

Great... When It Works
We ordered one of these in December and at first, it was great. Not as good as our previous air fryer, but very good. However, out of nowhere just a few months later, it stopped working. We contacted the manufacturer's customer service (just a generic "warranty" email, no functioning website or phone number) and finally got a response instructing us to take a photo of the unit with the cord cut (to prove it was nonfunctional) at which point they would send a replacement unit. We were told it would take six weeks to ship the new unit (!). We asked how to dispose of or recycle the old unit and got no answer. I understand them wanting proof the unit wasn't functional but why not just have us return it for refurbishment? Why cut the cord and doom it to a landfill putting the disposal on us? A few weeks later, our new replacement unit arrived. We wiped it down and washed it out for its first use. When we plugged it in and turned it on, the smell of burning plastic was so intense we had to stop it and take our food out. When we plugged it back in to try again, hoping the smell would "burn off," the unit wouldn't turn on at all and hasn't since. Our guess is that it was not a new unit at all. Now, almost two weeks and five emails later, no response from them at all. Meanwhile, we're now stuck with two nonfunctional units ready for the landfill and are out the money (and time) spent since it's outside of the Amazon return window. I rarely write reviews but people need to be warned these units are very hit and miss. Unless you're ok with cheaply produced disposable products that are going to end up in the landfill in a few short months, this is not the air fryer you want to buy.

One amazing kitchen appliance.
I’m so grateful to have one of these cookers again, nothing cooks your food like this. Flavor is always amazing, it’s never dried out and I don’t know of anything that can cook a peace of meat from frozen solid to perfection not to mention what a healthy life style choice this is that everyone should adopt.

Pleasantly surprised, food tasted great without feeling guilty about 'fried'.
I was unaware of 'air fryers' - this came up in my facebook feed as a best buy and peaked my curiosity. After some reading and looking at others reviews I ordered one. Of course prime 2 day it arrived in time for Sunday dinner. We were very impressed. After cleaning it up with soap and water we prepared dinner that night of chicken nuggets, fish sticks and string french frys - all in one cooking. So I cooked it too long (20 minutes) and the fries were super crispy (read crunchy, maybe a few a little burnt). The fish sticks and chicken nuggets were perfect. We did not have an oil mister so the food didn't get anything on it, I took a paper towel and wiped the racks with some oil before we started as I feared a tough clean up but it worked great. One fish stick stuck on one corner but that too was easy to clean off. A few things - this is heavy!! The glass bowl is crazy heavy so hang on to it, the structure appears fairly well designed as the handles are well balanced and I feel comfortable lifting it in and out of the cupboard all intact. I think I will have wished that the glass lid/dome was detachable for cleaning - the motor/lid appears to be all one unit so no putting that in water, best you can do is wipe it down. Very simple - two dials, 1 for temperature one for time (they turn easy so don't crank the timer like an old school egg timer), that's what I did and ended up with a 25 minute timer for 12-18 minute food. I put the food in at 400 (chicken was supposed to be 375, fish 400 and fires 450; so I split the difference). Lifting the handle turns it off, a nice safety feature and easy way to shut it down if you see your food is done and your timer is not. My husband commented that the food smelled good around the 12 minute mark, like another reviewer said a nice 'cooked' smell not 'oil' smell. I look forward to trying out some of the recipes in the cookbook - it was more substantial than expected. Overall I feel good about this purchase, time will tell if I would buy again. We recently downsized our 'extra' appliances (waffle makers, grinders, juicers, ice cream makers, etc). and then I go and replace it with this rather large unit - but how nice to have fried food without the oil!

Granitestone Air Fryer
I use this all the time. It's so easy I never take it off my countertop. It cooks things perfectly and cleaning it is so easy, since it comes complete apart and can all be washed in the sink except the top. I love the 360-glass design that lets you see how everything is doing as it cooks. Don't know why I waited so long to get one.

Best air fryer I've ever owned, very roomy & simple to use. The dog, she could run it..
This air fryer is "the bomb" you can see your food (no peeking), it makes awesome jumbo baked potatoes (60-minutes) wrapped in foil, cooks steaks perfectly & evenly / burgers too, easy clean-up. Its sturdy. can hold a lot of food. The only comment that I would make is that it needs a place to rest the lid. When I'm cooking things to different times, as I remove items I worry about setting the lid on the counter, though it does NO damage at all. Just takes-up a good amount of space... Super simple to use (Set-it & Forget-it)... Best air fryer I've ever had...

Worked great, until it didn't work at all.
I absolutely loved this thing for the 1st 6 weeks I owned it. I used it for most of my oven cooking and it worked great. The meat was always juicy and tender. Everything that was supposed to be crispy was crispy. Much better than cooking in the oven. It really does not taste like it was fried, because it was not fried, but it also was crispy without all the grease. I cooked everything from grilled steaks and pork to frozen egg rolls and burritos. The problem came at a little over 6 weeks when it suddenly quit working. I used it one night, then went to use it for lunch the next day and it did not work. The store that I purchased this item from was REAL CO USA. The window for returns was just past by a few days. They did not even reply to my request for help. As I did not receive any warranty information with my product, it would have been helpful if they could have at least told me that I had a warranty and how to go about contacting the manufacturer. I had purchased an extended warranty from Square Trade so I tried contacting them. They said it was under manufacturer warranty so I had to contact them. They did give me the phone number so that was a big help. It took me several tries before I figured out how to get to a person to take care of my problem. I will be sending it back to them at my expense. I will see how things go once they receive it. If this cooker would not have broken, I would give it 5 stars. As it only worked for about 6 weeks, I give it a 1. Even the greatest product is no good if it is broken.

it does not work on 220 volts-
this product should not be sold on amazon.de as the product American appliances run on 110 volts, while European appliances are 220 volts. This air fryer does not work, and the supplier did not mention that it cannot be used on european electricity. Finding a voltage converter that could convert on 1300 watts, costs more than the air fryer itself. this is a total fraud.

Good Air Fryer
I use my air fryer quite often and this one fits a lot in. It is quite heavy so you have to be careful lifting it up, or taking the lid off. No problems otherwise.

Great cooking, easy clean up, no pre-heat.
Bought this for my father, and he absolutely loves it. He's stopped using his oven for cooking a lot of his standards (roast chicken, Shake-n-Bake, fish fillets, etc). The first place he goes is to his Big Boss. Does a beautiful chicken, turkey (when you use the extender ring), and leg of lamb. The promise of significantly shorter cooking time is a bit of a misnomer though. The cooking time, we've found at least, is about the same as it would be in the oven. Where it does save you a bunch of time though is in the preheat. The Big Boss needs 0 preheat time - unlike the oven, which in Dad's case can take up to half an hour to get up to 350F - which means you save your time in the lack of preheat. You may knock 5-10 minutes of the total cook time too, but the big savings is in not needing to wait for an oven to come up to heat. The meat that comes out of the Big Boss is always succulent and juicy, but you can see after the fact how much fat has come off it too. By doing your food on the wire trays it doesn't sit in its own fat which is really good for the health conscious of us (and who isn't?). You also get the added benefit of being able to see your food as it cooks much more easily than in the oven, so you can watch for done-ness better as well .The Big Boss comes apart really easily and the trays, racks, and the main bowl are dishwasher safe, so clean up is a breeze. A really great addition to my Dad's kitchen. He's been cooking up a storm and finding reasons to have more people over so he can cook for them since he got it too. Really happy with the purchase and highly recommended.
