Good product very sturdy and lightweight

I only ever do occasional small scale home renovations/improvements. Still I found this hawk to be a worthy investment. It might be tempting to use a bucket or some plastic container as a makeshift solution to save a few dollars, but the amount of time you save and the improvements to the overall quality of your work by using professional tools alone makes it worthwhile. The hawk was very comfortable and easy to use and clean. I know it won't rust or degrade with age in anyway, so I can use it for many years to come.

This hawk is nice. Not too heavy, nice size, and the handle provides a sure grip for long periods of use. The plastic shipping envelope provided no protection for the corners of the hawk which were beat up and required smoothing to eliminate jagged edges caused by getting thrown around during shipping. Either a box for shipping or securing some plastic or rubber edges to the hawk might have prevented this damage. All things considered, it is very nice.

Item seems of good quality, but it did arrive with a bent corner and several dents/raised areas on the edges. The packaging is a just a plastic envelope, as mentioned in other reviews. So given that it is aluminum it did get damaged during shipping.

Always use this on a daily basis and love it. Light weight but can dent and nick easily. Would be nice to get the solid handle back instead of the hollow one.

I have used a 12.5" by 12.5" aluminum hawk for finish coating for years, and I wanted to try something that would not oxidize like aluminum does when cleaning it. When this first arrived, I was skeptical, as it is kind of looks like a plastic product. I was wrong! This hawk is awesome. I like the slightly smaller size and it is a dream to work with. It cleans so much easier than the aluminum one did, and the mud does not seem to dry out as fast on this. I was a little apprehensive ordering this because at the time, there were no reviews of the product. I think this hawk is great.

I've been using a big aluminium hawk for the last 5 years, which finally wore out on me.I switched to this one 6 months ago.I wish I had switched much sooner.Light weight, comfortable handle, so much easier to clean.My one recommendation: If you have a trowel bigger than 12", you may wish to go for a hawk larger than 12".
