What is the refill for this pen?

The refill information on these pens is totally ridiculous and confusing!!! What is the correct size of 'fine point', and 'medium'??? The boxes and information are contradictory at best???

What's the difference between the chrome barrel and the silver barrel, if any? one is bl407-a and the other is bl407-bp.

They're the same pen, but in different packaging. The "A" refers to the ink or barrel color (in Pentel's scheme, "A" is black). The "BP" refers to the packaging; "BP" pens come in bubble packs (those annoying plastic bubbles surrounded by cardboard), non-BP pens have no packaging. Usually the "BP" designation is surrounded by the barrel and ink color. For example, a violet ("V") barrel with black ink in a bubble pack has the item number BL407-VBPA; the same barrel with violet ink has the item number BL407-VBPV. If there's no "BP" and only one letter after the 407, the letter refers to the barrel color ("A"=Black; "C"=Blue; "P"=Pink; "Z"=Silver, but generally is left off, as in the BL407-A; "LS"=Aquamarine; "V"=Violet). All pens come with black ink except the -VBPV which comes with violet ink. Sorry for the long answer; hope this helps!

Is this constructed of all metal, or just made to look like it is?

Description says alloy. An alloy is a mixture of chemical elements of which at least one is a metal.

Can this be used on wood ?

I have never tried to user it on wood. It is more of a liquid ink, but it may not stay.
