Perfect
I can probably get this product locally for less money, but it would be an hour and a half round trip to a mexican grocery store. The peppers seemed fresh and pliable. I removed the stems, cut and de-seeded them (deArbols - I left the seeds in because they are tiny), roasted them in a cast iron skillet until the oils release, but not to the point of scorching the outer skins. After cooling I ground them into powders for use in my recipes. Great flavor, zero complaints. For anyone that is interested, the peppers yield this much powder (on average) when ground: 18 Guajillo peppers (stems removed and deseeded) = approximately 80g of powder 7 Ancho peppers (stems removed and deseeded) = approximately 66g of powder 80 DeArbol peppers with seeds (stems removed) = approximately 48g of powder The numbers above are not from grinding a full package, just the amount that use when I am grinding to add to my spice jars. Enjoy!
