These bulbs are pretty good. I'm using the timers to help me wake up without using the snooze button. It's also pretty good with helping the kids to settle down before bedtime by dimming the bulb or changing the color to have more red/orange (blue light can keep you up). They like setting the bulbs to change colors. The bulbs were easy to install and setup, but aren't able to connect to wi-fi at 5 GHz. That's not really an issue as most wi-fi networks can run at 2.4 GHz. The app isn't the best and could use a few tweaks, but overall works pretty well. It was easy to connect the bulbs to the app and set them up as a group. I've only two minor issues with the bulbs. One, the brightest bulb available is only 800 lumens and I have a larger living room so it leaves the room a little on the dim side, even with two bulbs. It would be nice if there were some around the 1600 lumen range, but my guess is that might wash out many of the colors. Secondly, after my wireless router was reset, only one bulb reconnected automatically. I had to turn off and turn on the lamp before that bulb reconnected. It only took two seconds, so not really a big deal. I haven't tried the music sync or disco settings.

Great product!Pros: Works as a normal bulb, can be controlled anywhere that has internet or cell access, can be adjusted to a solid color or a consistent changing color and a strobe function. It can also be programmed to turn on and off an specific times. All the bases are covered with little gem..Cons: $40 for a bulb and it comes on randomly at times...5-11-17 - Update: Quit working after 11 months and no response from customer support...

This bulb did preform as far as the ability to change colors plus the other features did work. This is the only reason I did not give it a 1 star. There are too many steps involved to use this bulb making it less convenient then advertised. The problem is this is not a WiFi device that is accessed like a printer. It requires you disconnect from your WiFi network and then connect to the bulb. If you want to access your network you must disconnect from the bulb and reconnect to your network. This means the timer function will not work unless you leave your tablet or phone connected to the bulb. This is fine if you have an old device you want to dedicated for this purpose. Returned the day I received it.

Very disappointed, bulb constantly needs to be reconnected to the app, none of the timers I set for it work, but it does turn on on its own at 4 am every morning with a pulsing blue light.

Works great, but the app has very few options. Synching lights to music only seems to work with their app, and it's a pretty featureless music player - no playlists, just all your music or nothing - and it quits playing if you leave the app for any other windows!

I love the way this bulb operates and the different effects that are available with it. I works better than plugging in a timer all with the convenience of a smart phone.
