Premium quality at a steal of the price, these wired items are just as good as a 4 grand surround sound system (just in your ears) best earphones i have ever had, miles better than apples latest buds and samsungs, will buy them again anyway over any other wired, wireless or headsets

This really should be as simple as, BUY these if you’re even thinking about a new pair of IEMs… I’m not an audiophile, but I definitely am a lover of sound quality. I’m also a lover of a good bargain! And these are quite frankly, “for the money” a total no brainer. I’m a middle aged guy, and over the years have owned a great many headphones, earphones, IEMs etc, so of course these ZAXs are gonna be compared to a lot of other ear goggles I have owned, some costing £500 and up. What can I say that’s not already been said about these? They’re amazingly good IEMs, like really astoundingly good. 8 drivers in a design which is so comfortable and light they almost “disappear”, leaving you to luxuriate in a wonderfully rich, detailed and engaging listening experience is a marvel. I’ve been listening to a fair range of music through these, from electro and techno, to hip hop and jazz, to acoustic and classical. The zaxs make everything I’ve played through them sound just great. Some reviewers have said the highs are fatiguing and shrill, and bass is a bit lacking. Well let them stroke their beards and nitpick. Fact is, for under £60, these are the finest IEMs you could ever hope to find. One can’t expect much for that money nowadays. I’ve spent more during a trip to McDonalds! But seriously, how this is even possible, I have no idea. Its how far audio technology has come recently. The closest pair of ears I could compare them to cost well over £300, and these trounce them! I won’t mention the cable, because I won’t be using it, having bought KZs Bluetooth ear hooks, which compliment the units perfectly. So I won’t get my silver coated copper in a twist over that aspect. I’m using an iPhone XS and it’s surprising how loud these are even compared to other KZ models. I’m finding just above 50% is plenty, even outdoors. One tiny gripe is the tips. They’re thin and really cheap silicone and don’t really get a great seal. Easily fixed by buying some decent memory foam tips, but literally that is the ONLY bad thing I can say about these. So yeah, not to put too finer point on it, I am pretty much gobsmacked by these IEMs. Not even joking when I say if I’d have paid £200 plus for these I’d be thrilled with my purchase, but less than £60? And they even look super cool in matte black. I’m my recent quest for the best sound quality on a budget, I’ve found my grail, (for now) and if you’re a lover of music and read a lot of reviews, make this the last one you read before you pull the trigger… Happy listening.

I bought these a year ago to try IEMs for the first time. They did take a little bit of getting used to (especially if you're not used to in-ear earphones), I primarily use them for gaming and streaming, after about a week or two I can say I'll never go back to a traditional headset for gaming. The sounds quality is better than "gaming" headsets, the value is for these ones specifically is very good. Mine are still going strong even with 8+ hours of use a day (both gaming and general music listening). The only issue I had is the black paint has come of completely from just normal wear and tear but that has zero impact of the sound. I honestly can't recommend these more especially as a first pair, I can't compare them to more expensive brands because I haven't used them.

I bought these for IEM's for gigging and can say that they are far better than I expected, i would advise changing the ear buds for memory foam like sonicfoam for example as the provided ones arn't brilliant and you will get more comfort and a better seal with memory foam. I have compared these with other earbuds a little cheaper and these blew them out of the water. they have 1 main driver and another 7 armatures which gives a great sound and my vocals sound great. I do have to eq my guitar a little in the digital mixer from my Helix to take into account the size of the drivers in the ZAX in comparison to the 12" ones in the FOH speakers.

I’ve owned a lot of IEMs over the years, including some much more expensive ones, but the KZ ZAX still stand out for me. The sound quality is honestly on the level of high‑end sets in my opinion — clean detail, great bass, and a really nice balance overall. I like them so much that I actually keep a few spare pairs still in the box for when my current ones eventually die. For around £50, they’re ridiculous value. Solid build, detachable cable, and that hybrid driver setup really delivers. Every time I try something pricier, I end up coming back to these because they just do everything I want without costing a fortune. If you want great sound without paying high‑end prices, these have been an absolute favourite of mine.

I've had these a couple of days now and am impressed. They have excellent response, really precise highs, good clear mids and well controlled but substantial bass. The clarity is amazing - on some tracks you hear instruments (and particularly percussion) that just wasn't there before. They also have a great sound stage with more separation than I've heard previously. If there is a tiny flaw - and it is a small thing - on some tracks I think you can hear which frequencies are coming from which driver - not in a noticeable way, but somehow its there. It gives a hint of 'artificiality' but really is minor. Anyway a very good buy. Whenever I want to hear the detail of a track I put these on!

Happy with the product, a really clear sound but the plastic around the connectors broke when fitting a longer cable as the cable shipped wasn't enough to reach my mounted PC.

I love the sound. The drivers really do give life and sound stage to uour headspace. Very important to be able to hear seperation of a mix for live purposes. Nothing worse than losing that kick drum to a bass gtr and thus losing the bottom end of rhtyhm. With these you dont have to sacrifice using sharp eq curves. When using for music listening for pleasure these are fantastic. I am even able to mix music using these when up late and dont want to upset the household. My only negative is that they are bulky. However they are light and fit nicely into the ear. The cable could also come with a pull lock to line up behind the head although it does look fairly inconspicuous. I did replace the cable though. I also replaced the tips with foam tips. For snug fit and better noise cancelling which creates more accurate eq spectrum and sound space.

For a couple of years I have been regularly using my lower spec. Linsoul KZ ZS10 Pro In Ear Monitors with my fairly good digital audio player and I have been very satisfied with their audio reproduction for a relatively wide genre of music. While electrically and acoustically well built the construction of the IEM bodies do have at least one weak point, that being the sockets that the cable plugs insert into on the IEM's themselves. The moulded plastic of the sockets are prone to breaking or crumbling which can render the socket unusable. This has happened to me with the Linsoul KZ ZS10 Pros and on other models of Linsoul KZ IEM's. Sometimes it is possible to repair damaged sockets with epoxy resin but it can be difficult to do and doesn't guarantee that the plug will still fit/work. Anyway some time back I decided to purchase some new Linsoul IEM's on Amazon for the reasons outlined above and they are great performers for the relatively low cost. I decided to go for one of Linsouls higher tier IEM's, those being the Linsoul KZ ZAX 1DD+7BA which although more expensive I do not regret purchasing. I am certainly no audiophile but I can definitely hear a difference, (in a good way), with the new IEM's. Although they are designed with rear venting I believe this may be contributing to it's tight, crisp and transparent sound reproduction. I'm not certain whether the Oxygen Free Copper conductors, within the plastic cable are actually playing a part in determining the audio quality passed on to the IEM's but the cable appears hardy and if looked after should last a fairly long time. I do have a spare replacement cable, (of a different construction), on hand should the original fail down the line. Like the KZ ZS10 Pros they are a little frugal on the bass side of things but it's really not a concern as I have become used to it. I only need to use minimal equalisation on my digital audio player and leave it that way no matter what kind of music I decide to listen to. They are also quiet sensitive due to their lower impedance and so cranking up the volume to get a decent sound output is not required. Summing up I think the Linsoul KZ ZAX 1DD+7BA are great and are worth the extra money they cost.

Sitting next to me is a watch case with 5 IEMs in it - AKG N40, KZ ZS10 Pro, KZ ZSX, KBear Diamond, and the newly acquired KZ ZAX. KZ dominates my collection because they do budget earphones so well. In fact, it was the KZ ZS10 Pro's that made me stop and go, "If these are $40 then why do I have these ($250) AirPod Pro's?" One week later, sold the AirPod's and bought more IEMs. Suffice to say, I like KZ and have yet to be disappointed by one of their products - the KZ ZAX are no exception. (Let me add a quick note as well that I have ripped on Linsoul on several occasions for sending me incorrect or faulty items - they nailed it this time around!) The KZ ZAX has almost an identical plastic body to many of their other models. The big difference is found in the (very nice) black matte metal face. Out of the box, KZ ditched their standard stock brown QDC cable for a silver one. Initially, I thought that KZ might have just changed the rubberized shield encasing the cable to make it look like an upgrade. After a side by side comparison, however, the silver cable has the same tight braid standard to KZ but a noticeably greater thickness. That said, I immediately switched the included cable for KZ's gold upgrade cable which adds a minor improvement to sound quality and has a much nicer braid to it. As far as ear tips go, KZ stuck with their standard silicone tips which I'm tempted to just throw away. Instead, I use any old foam tip that costs about $6 for a dozen. Sound-wise... 8 drivers (1 DD, 7 BA) is A LOT of drivers to pack into an IEM. Theoretically, the more drivers you add, the more detail you can pack into the IEM. There is the very real potential to really screw up the overall listening experience, however, by not balancing and tuning the earphones carefully. I thought KZ's ZSX IEMs with 6 drivers per side (1 DD, 5 BA) did very well for the price. the KZ ZAX made me nervous - maybe KZ was reaching for something they really should leave alone. After listening for a couple days, I'm happily perplexed by these particular IEMs. The imaging is fantastic - that's one of the first things I noticed. Sound stage is pretty good, but not quite as good as I would have expected from these. Nothing feels cramped; in fact, they feel quite open. But, there is a lot of detail being shot at you. Most people would think to listen to orchestra music to get a real feel for sound stage, and I do too. However, my main test for sound stage is to listen to a simple nature effects sound track. Headphones that have excellent sound stage should allow me to pinpoint a bird chirp 40 feet to my 4 o'clock. IEMs, admittingly, have a much harder time doing that. The ZAX did not fail this test, they just didn't excel at it. While this isn't a bad thing, it can present a potential problem depending on your listening type. There's a lot of detail being thrown at you and without an expansive sound stage to balance it out, it can feel a tad overwhelming at times. So, these are great when you want a more analytical experience. These are not my go to when I just want to kick back and enjoy some chill music - those would be my KBear Diamonds. That said, the detail is really quite incredible for $60. In particular, there's a rap song that I have listened to dozens of times - I know it pretty well. Using these on my FiiO Q5s, I just noticed a very faint maraca in the background. I'm pleasantly surprised by the new little details I'm finding in my music. Specific to the sound signature... Mids and highs are emphasized (hence the extra detail). That said, I do not like bright sound signatures. I do not like Audio-Technica studio headphones because they feel way too bright to me. My Sennheiser HD300s feel a tad too bright, but I use them anyways because I need them for mixing. These do not feel bright. So, to have more forward mids and highs without my ears going "wow, this is way too much" is a win for me. The bass is heavily dependent on the track. There are some songs where I'm listening and I'm thinking "There really isn't much bass here". Then there are others, like rap, where the bass kicks in and my ears vibrate. So, if you listen and find bass is lacking, then its probably just the recording and not the IEMs. When bass was heavily present, I did not find it to overpower the mids or muddy the sound. The bass was tight but had a nice fullness to it that gave it warmth. I rarely EQ my music, but I did do a test with these IEMs and they respond really well to EQing. I did a wacky EQ (+5, -5, +5, etc. across the frequency range) and these handled it surprisingly well. It sounded horrible because that's a terrible way to EQ something, but it did exactly what I EQ'd it for. Likewise, when I EQ'd my 60Hz up a tad, the ZAX handled it very naturally without it sounding artificial, bloated, or distorted. That, to me, is a sign of a very good IEM. Ultimately - should you buy this IEM? Yes. These are probably the best IEMs you can buy for $60. They're fun to listen to music with, but they also pack enough detail and imaging to use in a band setting. Sure, I took a jab at the sound stage of these IEMs - reality of it, however, is that the sound stage is better than most IEMs out there (its better than several of my closed back headphones). Again, for $60 these are fantastic. If I paid $150, I still wouldn't be disappointed.

Comfortable fitting and good sound quality for a low price
