This is the authentic product that has been sold for years but now is hardly available anywhere. Excellent quality and flavor. A nice holiday treat, especially for us older people! Unfortunately we are in a time where the vendor has very large cost to ship. Making this seem like it is very expensive. Fact, the product is quite fairly priced but the shipping makes it seem not so much. I am happy with what I got and I understand the stress this causes many sellers and buyers. Top ratings to the seller!

I purchased these to use in making a super fancy, authentic gingerbread house for the Holidays. I was looking for that old world feel, so aesthetically pleasing was even more important than flavor. I wanted the candy to glimmer like little jewels and show off the intricacy of their making. The stripped ribbon and image canes (little flower in the center) were the most important to this effect. The candy arrived fairly intact with an acceptable level of minor breakage, though lacking both the ribbon version and the little picture cane types but for one of each, and the ribbon unpatterned orange and was broken. Utterly disappointing. The rest were perfectly acceptable stripped puff pillow types, but definitely not worth the extra cost. Right now I’m considering if it’s worth my energy to return them, and I’m so aggravated that I think so. $12.95 is a lot of money to pay for something that isn’t really as described. Also, a heads up: the three favors are true to old fashioned candy flavorings and are peppermint, spearmint and anis. Anise has a very distinct licorice flavor, so these do taste like minty licorice, which is kinda weird in the contemporary tongue. Little kids will not like them. Overall a washout and a waste of money.
