LOK8U PAL Protect and Locate Alert Watch (Black)

I have an autistic child living in a group home that is prone to wandering. He wears the watch and one of the staff keeps the receiver unit on their person. The receiver sounds an audible alarm and alerts staff when he strays more than the pre-set distance. We use the lowest setting to provide an alert as soon as possible since he moves fast and to prevent him reaching a roadway or some other hazard. Also, the LOK8U staff has been very supportive with any questions or technical issues.

I have a 11 year old daughter with Autism, she is into running away any opportunity she gets these days. I desperately need a good GPS tracking device that she can't just throw away. I purchased PAL because it has a lock that needs a special device to open and I thought they have 24x7 help center. I was wrong about the 24x7 center, it's 9:30 am to 4:30 am Mon-Fri central time at best. The first PAL I received kept giving me false alarms at close range, like when my daughter is only 10 feet from it. The support center sent me a replacement. The second one never gave me a location of my daughter, not during the seven hours of school hours, the bus ride of 40 minutes to/ from school, not even when I took her to the park in the open air for 45 minutes where they are perfect cell signals. The only time it worked was when the center was involved to track me. Also the watch battery didn't last for even eight hours when away from the base. After testing this product for 20 days, I finally returned it because I really need a device I can trust to track my daughter. Her safety is at stake.
