Great replacement for Klipsch Promedia 2.1
First tried gluing a replacement foam surround on the original Klipsch woofer after it crumbled and it just didn't work out. It's a messy job, tricky to line everything up while glue dries much too fast, etc. Ordering this affordable speaker just a little more than the cost of the kit was SO much easier. It looks very well made and a great value. There's plenty of bass response and I don't even feel the need to turn the bass dial up more than halfway. Just a few notes: - Screw mounts line up perfectly and you can use the original screws - One of the connectors is a difference size then Klipsch, you can crimp on a new connector to the original wiring - To save some time and effort I just attached the original narrow crimped connector sideways so it grips the edge of the speaker's connector. Added some tight electrical tape around it and it seems to be holding fine - If you notice any buzzing after installation, check for air gaps in the case. Use silicone, etc to seal them air tight. - The original grill wont stay put, I've left mine open but you can probably use some shims + glue to make it work.

Grandson’s project
I got this for my grandson who likes to build his own speakers. So far he said it sounds good. Looks great. It’s lightweight and it puts out a loud Bam Bam lol lol the size was perfect.

Good value
im not expecting the same build and sound quality as a $100 speaker but I think everyone is over exaggerating the sound quality a bit. Yes it sounds good but its not as good as people make it out to be. This "deep bass" they speak of its not that deep, its not bad but its not great either and thats ok, i dont expect it to be and any reasonable person shouldnt either. The magnet is big and heavy, it has an aluminum voice coil, (not sure how more a copper coil would have cost) the cone is paper thin, its not thin and stiff, its just thin. the rubber surround is very flimsy, like a thick plastic bag and the basket is also very thin, you can easily bend it using your hands. To sum it up, Its like a high quality speaker that shaved off as much cost as you possibly can while maintaining some degree of sound quality and i believe they acheived this. You shouldn't have high expectations from a product in this price range but you can expect amazing results for a speaker at this price.

Another Sucsessful Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 Replacement
After reading the reviews here, I bought this when the Klipsch sub woofer crapped out. Everything worked fine and it sounds good. Only negative, and this doesn't apply to this speaker, was that the grille on the Klipsch sub had to be pried out. No biggie. Also, I have a pair of 40 year old JBL speakers that use 6.5" woofers and when those give out, I'll replace them with these.

Great speaker replacement for Klipsch 2.1 Pro! Just needs a short break in to come to life!!
Forget the rubber surround replacement, just grab this drop in woofer, so much easier for the same price. IT WILL NEED A BREAK IN PERIOD, the first few hours over a day or so will sound like crap, after that it'll sound as good as the original Klipsch sub. The amp is 6 ohms and this speaker is 8 ohms, so you should be fine, 6ohms to a 4ohm speaker is bad! The grill will not fit, just use some silicone if you want it mounted. Just remember, LOW volume bass for a few hours, for two days and after that, it should start putting out deep bass. I almost did a return, because it had zero bass, but after a few days of use, it is now working how a subwoofer should. Easy fix for the ground connection is to use a pair of needle nose plyers to carefully bend the arms of the connector slightly, until it will slide onto the speaker fitting.

Decent quality. Do not work in a small enlosure.
I have a killer stereo in my car 14 speakers, 4 amplifiers yada yada. I was hoping to get some mid-bass up front. I decided to experiment with a pair of these in small enclosures in the front footwells facing up. The simply could not give me any volume without distortion. I had way more power available than they can handle and it was applied judiciously. They simply did not contribute sufficient volume for my application.

Not for Klipsch ProMedia 2.1
Not for Klipsch ProMedia 2.1. The speaker's not strong enough to handle the amplifier. Speaker still gets five stars because it works as it should. It just does not work for this application. That's no fault at the speaker. And it does sound fine at lower volume. So for the correct application it would be good.

Another Successful Replacement For Klipsch Promedia 2.1
Not a bad little sub. Sub recently went out on the Promedia. (Shocker) Let it break in for a few days. For the ground connection, it is a different size disconnect. I have absolutely no experience in audio however, I snipped off the stock ground connection and replaced it with the appropriate size one. It is not hard but if you want a proper connection, I would go with replacing the connection.

Replaced a 1980's Paul Barton bookshelf. Hard to tell the difference between it and the other orginal one. Good price. Quality speaker.

Obviously, this driver is designed to go into a cabinet and when put into a 15/16 litre box with some bracing, a decent tweeter and a well designed crossover, this is a very impressive unit. It is quite surprising how much solid bass you can get out of a relatively small ported box. If you are looking to build a pair of speakers that isn't going to break the bank and want something that is going to out perform the majority of commercial units, then this is the way to go. Have a look at Paul Carmody's Classix 2 - do a Google search for Paul Carmody.

Really good you get what you pay for performs well and does have some decent low air resonance bass to it that is quite like a subwoofer doesn't shake the house but definitely rattles the windows
