The only heater I could find that can be installed under an umbrella, putting it at the center of a table. More efficient and cleaner (and less smelly) than propane, as well. I am thrilled to report it is also well made! You can easily slide the unit down when you have to lower the umbrella - or remove it if needed. The arms on this model fold down.We have found it effective at 55 degrees - (the coolest it has gotten in our area so far) and expect it will be OK for us at even cooler temperatures (maybe with a few more layers of clothing) Radiant heats warms the person, not the air and output is determined by the wattage plus the design of the reflectors. I believe this design works as well as the physics will allow. Two months and happy so far.

This worked out well. It heats our little patio table. I was concerned that they'd be too hot. But most nights, the 1500 watts of power are just right.My favorite thing about this heater is the warm orange glow it puts over our backyard.
