Is there a way to slow it down? I have a heavy disco ball, and it spins way too fast.

I haven't found a way to slow it down. it also spins faster than I was wanting.

the rpm is suppose to be 30 rpm

Are these waterproof?

I don't think I would immerse it in water, but we leave it outside 24 hours & there have been several mornings that it was quite wet & we have had no problems. Bought this to replace a motor we purchased with the spinner that didn't even last a month & we have been very pleased with the quality (especially at the price) Highly recommend.

Can I use a "rechargeable D battery"?

Since it is directly to a motor, i dissuade using a rechargeable battery. If the battery is drained below a certain point, it cannot be recharged. It will be an expensive battery for you
