Not plastic like others have mentioned.
I'm happy with these so far. I wanted toddler bowls that aren't plastic and that won't break if they drop them.II'd like to address what I read in other reviews:Some reviews stated these are not stainless steel determined by how light they are and by the fact that magnets won't stick to them. If these are, in fact, 200 type stainless steel bowls then they are a chrome-manganese metal. Chrome-manganese contains a very low percentage of nickel, such a small amount that magnets will not be attracted to it. It is considered safe and it has a lower amount of nickel than other food-grade stainless steel. However they are not nickel free like in 400 series stainless steel. Little to no nickel will leach into your food if you put hot food into these bowls. But baking with them at high temperatures will very likely ruin the bowls and leach nickle into your baked goods. This is why they are advertised as rice bowls and not cooking bowls or baking bowls. I think they are well suited for rice or soup or similar foods as the heat from the food does not reach the outer wall of the bowl because of the pocket of air inside the bowl. Perfect for little hands to handle as well. And way better than the type of chemicals and the amount of chemicals that would leach through if these were plastic. Which they are not.I also would not recommend putting them in a dishwasher and avoid storing food that contains citrus in it for long periods of time just to be on the cautious side.200 stainless steel is known to be light in weight and cheaper to manufacture due to it's low nickel content. So yes they are cheap. But mostly in price and not in quality.I did not give them five stars because I am skeptical by nature and there is no practical way of testing whether these bowls are 200 stainless steel or stainless steel coated. But either possibilities are better than plastic, so I'm satisfied.

Lightweight, sturdy, great value for RV living!
I use large Stainless Steel mixing bowls for huge tossed dinner salads. That got me thinking how cool it would be to have all of our dinnerware stainless to match.I found these bowls which are great for hot or cold meals. They are insulated so you can even sit at the campfire eating hot food without burning your hands or thighs π .They are very durable, but lightweight, and have held their shine just fine.

Cheaply made
Outside of the bowl is real thin "stainless steel"The inside feels like plastic. Might or might not be.Cheaply made. I will return these and find something of higher quality.

Great medium sized stainless bowls
Just received within 1 day of purchase. Put in dishwasher and they washed up great, no water marks on the stainless. Lightweight for their size, purchased for snack bowls and for cooking when needing multiple sliced/diced items that need to be added at different times.

good product
So I really like these bowls, but I marked down for a problem with the first delivery. When I got them, there was only 3 bowls. I contacted Amazon and they sent another order to correct the problem. I would order them again, but not if I needed them by a certain time. The bowls themselves are great. They go through the dishwasher, and still look great. They do help insulate from the hot or cold of the contents of the bowl, which is the reason I wanted these kinds of bowls.
