I VERY rarely write a review. But, I am so pleased with this product that I can’t resist. I have in the past bought solid jaggery in block form in a 1.1# block. I had to use a knife to break off chunks. They were never exactly the same size. So my tea was sometimes too sweet - sometimes not sweet enough. Then I tried palm jaggery in powder form. I liked being able to measure it. I didn’t like the cloudiness of my tea; and the taste did not please me as much as cane jaggery.And then, along came this product. Jaggery cubes. A brilliant and delicious idea. Three cubes were perfect for my teapot, which yields 2 cups of not cloudy, perfectly sweet tea. Bravo, Jiva!

I’ve ordered this Jaggery 14 times as of this review, it’s very good. I like to put a chunk in a jar of water with a small amount of desert salt and drink it as a sort of “Gatorade”. The supply recently changed from India to Columbia and the Jaggery has changed in a few ways but it’s still great. I’m now ordering much less though because the price is a little higher than I’d like it to be. Jiva is a good company, I’ve purchased a lot of products from them over the years and they’re always high quality.

Got this with great expectations , but after 1 taste of it ..it went straight to the trash can .. Live and learn I guess .

I love that it is natural but concerned about the side effects..

It has a wonderful taste and would be so deeeeelish in a morning beverage or any baked goods that need brown sugar. I don’t understand why it isn’t sold everywhere. The consistency is wonderful and it dissolves quickly.

I use jaggery in baking as a substitute for white sugar. I accidentally ordered the whole cone jaggery instead of the powder. When it arrived I freaked a little because it appeared rock solid and I was clueless. I tried grating it like cheese to break it down and it worked perfectly. It tastes wonderful and works good in baking and as a sweetener in tea.

I saw this being used on a You Tube channel that I follow. I am always looking for exotic food items that I can use to tweak recipes or add to my collection. Amazon to the rescue, once again! I am using this to give a very mellow sweetness to my morning coffee, at the moment. I just shave off a spoonful into my cup. Different from my other favorite, maple syrup, but not the same as the brown sugar found here in the US.

I gave this a three for packaging. This is the second package that has come broken. Amazon needs to package to ship this product differently. The top is popped off and the container cracked, please ship this product in a box. It’s very frustrating. I liked the other jaggery better in flavor, but this is ok.FYI: Jaggery is more medicinal the older it gets, so even with a past expiry date, if the jaggery isn’t contaminated, it’s actually better for you.
