Bonanza Gourmet Chinchilla Diet - 2lbs

I've heard a lot about the appropriate diet for a chinchilla and the fact that they should not have fruits and vegetables because their systems aren't geared for it. COnsidering that they live in the Andes naturally, I have to agree that things like carrots and apples will not be a natural part of their diet. That being said, my chinchilla has tried several foods without much success. But when I filled his bowl with Bonanza, he went crazy. He loves the food, eats it well, and waits by the door for me to refill his bowl. His energy is good, coat is soft and thick, and his weight is in good stead. I would recommend this food to any chinchilla owner, especially those with picky eaters. They gobble it up. Please remember to provide a generous supply of fresh hay.

Nothing gourmet or special with this except for the price! I expected more with the previous reviews! I feel like I must have received a defective bag but I would never take the chance of purchasing this ever again! Not enough food for the price! There was hardly any carrots or rose hips at all in the bag. I would have been better off to purchase a bag of alfalfa pellets and mixing my own rose hips and vegetables in it because it would have been much less expensive. I feel like I paid for gold plated alfalfa pellets because there was less than a teaspoon of the rose hips and carrots. I feel that I was ripped off! My chinchillas was not at all happy with this!

It's ok for a backup that I needed because I couldn't find my usual food for sale at the time. My Chin ate it but wasn't particularly excited about it. I suggest Charlie Chinchilla or Tropical Carnival (I mix these two for his regular diet)

Great buy and my chinchilla loves it! I will be buying it again. My chin is picky but loves this.

Chinchillas picked through it. They did not like it as much as some others I've purchased.

Our chinchilla loved this stuff. It's like chinchilla crack but slightly less addictive.

The only brand our 12 year old chinchilla will eat. Need I say more?
