Great Idea, but Old Stock
I play mandolin and heard about these strings. I ordered a set here since I was buying some other stuff.Big Mistake! The set I got was very old. When these nylon based strings stay coiled too long they start to melt into each other. All of the strings have ruts in them from being coiled so long.I installed them anyway since I didn't expect a replacement to be any newer. I won't buy them here again.Normally with fifths, or violin tuning, the low G string is thickest. That would require filing the nut slot wider. Aquila is on their game though. The lower G string is wound. That allows it to be the same size as the ukulele tuned counterpart so the lower tone is there, but no filing is needed. I can go back to standard ukulele strings with no problem. After installing them the ruts are still there, but under tension it's not as bad. I think it will improve with playing, but I'm still disappointed in Amazon for selling these as fresh new strings. They still work for a quieter practice instrument compared to my mandolins. I get the same tuning but can practice when the real mandolin would be too loud.My next set will come from someone who has fresh sets though.

This has a pretty much same result
I left review of another Aquila 30U Ukulele SOPRANO model with a photo. This has a pretty much same result. I love its "mellow" sounds very much against metal sound of my mandolin, but not its endurance. The wound G just last a couple of months if you practice with it about 30 minutes every day. It worn out in the time period and got started to catch your fingers especially when trying to slid or bend over string G. I am not sure its short life span is a business policy or a technical limitation. Either one still make me frustrated.

AQ-30 = 30U strings
I’m really happy with these strings. I was worried that the E string was going to break because of all the comments I had read. It hasn’t broken yet but I decided to replace it with the E string that originally came with my Fender soprano ukulele to just be safe. It still sounds great.

Good strings so far
Good strings so far. They need a few more weeks on the uke to settle in. Like the color coding on the strings for a first time re-stringing the uke.

Actually I have purchased other sets of acoustic strings for various instruments and I have never been disappointed by the sound
I can honestly say that these strings did not meet my expectations. No, they exceeded them by far. Actually I have purchased other sets of acoustic strings for various instruments and I have never been disappointed by the sound quality, which seems to make even my most mediocre instruments sound better. Aquila obviously takes pride in their products. And it shows in the quality of the workmanship.

overpriced
Why do they cost so much more than "regular" Aquilas? The wording on the listing is confusing...I figured I was paying $11 because I was getting 4 sets of strings.....rather it is 1 set of 4 strings. I suppose that should have seemed odd. Hope I like them for that much....

pitch perfect
Made my little throw-down uke a perfect travel instrument.

High string broke while tuning up for the first time
This product is terrible. Thirty dollars and the string didn’t even get to pitch once before it broke. Very unsatisfied.
