The Gradual - Gradual Tan Lotion - Cruelty & Toxic Free

This product is amazing. I first bought it after seeing it recommended on TikTok, and even though it’s definitely on the pricier side, it has been completely worth it. The color is so natural and glowy, and it’s perfect for daily use or for maintaining a tan between mousse applications. The consistency is great, it dries quickly, and it doesn’t have that strong “self-tanner smell” most lotions have. It applies very evenly, and the only time I’ve ever gotten streaks was in the usual tricky spots — hands, feet, ankles, and wrists — which happens with every tanning product. As long as you blend those areas carefully and wash your hands afterward, it looks flawless. I use it all over my body and pair it with my L’Oréal tanning drops on my face, and together they genuinely make me look healthier and more refreshed, like I actually eat vegetables and drink water on purpose. Overall, I absolutely love this lotion and fully plan to keep buying it when I run out, but so far my first bottle has been long lasting. 10/10 — highly recommend.

I am naturally pale and was looking for a product that was easy and gave natural looking results. This lotion is it! It's amazing! Easy to apply. First day I used it, I didn't really notice much difference in my skin color. But I got a nice tan glow after the second application on day 2. Showering doesn't seem to affect it at all which is great. No streaks. Just ensure you rub it in well, in a circular motion. Wash your hands thoroughly after you're done. I washed my hands after each use and I had zero issues with color on the palm of my hands. I am definitely a fan of this product!

Works very well on my very white skin with one application. With two applications it starts looking odd. The smell is pleasant at first but I do find it bothersome when I sleep. Rubs off in two days.

I have very pale, sensitive skin and several skin allergies. Even sensitive skin lotions can break me out. It’s always a risk when I try something new. I’m also white as a ghost who does not tan. I go from white to lobster red and back to white if I’m in the sun. No residual tan. Since this product has decent ratings, I decided to give it a shot. I am (so far) pleasantly surprised. First, it does smell - just like every other self-tanner I’ve ever tried. So don’t buy it if you’re looking for fragrance-free. This isn’t it. It’s not an awful smell, but you’ll know you have self-tanner on. I can deal with it. Next, so far, no breakouts. Granted, I’m using it on my legs, which tend to be less sensitive, so YMMV. It goes on easily and if you rub it in, it dries quickly and completely. Another plus, and more rare than not. I’ve used it 3 days in a row, and any slight streaking has leveled out with repeated use. The look is not orange, but a nice bronze color - and not a strong color, which is what I wanted. I don’t want look like I’m using a bronzer. I just want to take the edge off of my blindingly-white skin. Overall, very pleased.

I love this product. I bought a mit but have not needed to use it. I followed directions and applied in circular motions and no streaks! I do this very quickly now so I can wash my hands. First application did leave the outer palm of my hands a little stained. It goes on smoothly and soaks in quickly so I apply right before bed and it does not come off on my sheets or my white towels. Another product I used in the past came off on my towels every time I took a shower and it left me with a tacky feeling on my skin. This does not leave me feeling like I need to take a shower to wash it off. I have only used it on my arms and legs for 2 weeks. An application or two Iasts about a week and my husband commented on how tan my legs were after one use. I am going to try some on my face tomorrow, although I do not expect it to last as long since I use a toner every day. Will definitely be buying this again.

Pros: Not a strong scent, easy to apply, not at all orange, incremental change Cons: Coverage is not even, does not last I bought this for a trip, because in my day-to-day I have been mistaken for a ghost. The color was great overall, and it didn’t stain or look unnatural. However, even with the applicator glove and putting lotion on areas like knees and elbows first, I wasn’t able to get an even coat. I was still happy with the results overall, until I went for a swim and immediately returned to my haunting hue. Think it would work if you could continuously apply it, but didn’t fit in my carry on.

I don’t do self-tanning products because I always mess them up. Even the Jergens lotion that everyone loves because it’s “easy.” I haven’t had time this summer to hit the beach, and even if I did I’m concerned about my skin, so I looked into self-tanning lotions and saw this had high reviews. I can see why, it’s very easy to use, it smells nice, and the after-smell isn’t as bad as the other brands I’ve tried. The color is very natural and develops fairly quickly: after an hour or so I saw a hint of color and by the next morning (I applied it before bed) I looked like I’d had some sun. I will say you need to massage the lotion in thoroughly, the first time I applied it I massaged for a while and it came out evenly. The next time I got a little lazy and didn’t do a good job so there was some uneven spots (but it wasn’t straight up brown like other tanning mishaps I’ve done lol). I liked it so much I ordered another bottle before I’m even halfway done with this bottle.

If I could give this product a zero , i would have but it didn’t give me that option . This has got to be the worse gradual self tanner i’ve used and ive tried plenty. If you want to look like an oompa loompa/pumpkin, this will be the product for you . The liquid white consistency doesn’t help . It’s tricky because you don’t know if you missed certain spots . The smell is awful . Honestly i hardly wrote amazon reviews but i completely compelled to save someone from falling into buying this product .

Me ha parecido muy sencilla su aplicación porque viene en forma de crema, que además es muy hidratante, evitando altas concentraciones de productos acumuladas por zonas, que generan las tan temidad ronchas marrones. Con este producto no me ha pasada.🫶🏻 Por otra parte, el color es totalmente modulable, siendo el inicial ligeramente bronceado, lo cual, a mí, me parece una ventaja. Lo usaré durante todo el año. Además, yo tengo la piel muy sensible y no me ha generado ningún tipo de intolerancia. ¡Totalmente recomendable!🤩

This product is Fabulous!!! Spreads beautifully very milky and a natural tan overnight or with in 4-5 hrs and not streaky!!2nd time buying!! Doesn’t look like a fake tan!!

This is the best progressive tanner that I have ever used…and I have a very white skin! Its texture is fluid and easy to apply. As with any tanning cream you have to apply evenly and really pay attention to the application to have an even finish. I use my hands to feel the application and really focus on rubbing it in all over with even amounts each time. Then I wash my palms with a brush.I love that it does not make darks spots darker and that it does not transfer to cloths and sheets. So happy to have found this product!

Prodotto ottimo per mantenere ed incrementare l'abbronzatura dei weekend al mare. Alcuni dicono di profumazione poco gradevole come per tutti gli autoabbronzanti, per ovviare io lo amalgamo con crema da corpo profumata. Non macchia e si assorbe subito lasciano la pelle morbida. Consiglio.
