Fit to perfection. Love this this. Im 5’3 and 150 lbs and I ordered a size 8 and it was perfect.

It's cute and fits perfect, but some of these other reviews weren't kidding.. It smells Extremely Strong like fish. :-/ I don't know why it smells so bad. I wish they would make sure it smells good before shipping it. I'm hoping I can get the smell out because it would be embarrassing to wear like that. I almost want to return it for that reason alone.. :-/ The blue fabric is very dark, almost black with a slight stretch to it. Kind of wish it were a touch lighter. I like that it has some stretch. Love the pockets. I wear size small in dresses and ordered a 6. Would give it 5 stars but am removing a star because of how horrible it smells. It's really not acceptable to ship clothing that smells like it was soaked in putrid fish.Update: So it seems washing it mostly got rid of the fish smell.. Believe it or not, this dress can be machine washed! There's still a faint scent of fish but you can barely smell it now.. Can only smell it if I put my nose to the fabric and sniff hard. Am hoping one more wash will get rid of it completely. All I did was turn it inside out and wash it on the most delicate setting, then stick it in the dryer on delicate/low for 20 mins. Was cautious because it doesn't seem like it could be machine washed, but guess it can! That's definitely a bonus.

The quality of the dress (for the price) is astounding. I was very happy with the look and feel of the fabric. I bought red and it was about one size too big (I followed the size chart) so I bought a smaller one, plus the blue. The blue dress is very lovely, super classy.The red had a strong, objectionable fishy odor; the blue had no such problem. I am very sensitive to smells and perfumes and suffer migraines frequently because of that.I washed the red dress in the washing machine, cold water cycle & Tide detergent, three different times. I still could not stand the smell, which was lessened, but not enough to be wearable. After that I aired out the dress out in a room (hung on a hanger on a door frame, not stuffed in a closet or bag) for over three weeks. I was very unhappy to see the smell was still there, making the dress unwearable. I had to discard the red dress.

Pros: This dress is made out of heavy, good quality fabric with a nice lining. It feels solidly built, not like the throwaway fast fashion of modern day. The size 10 fit slightly large around the waist for me (my measurements are 38-31-38"), which surprised me, as I usually am too thick-waisted for dress silhouettes. But it is gorgeous, and true to the color you see on your screen. I am very surprised by the quality of this dress! I am ordering the red now, in a size 8, to see if it will fit a little more snugly, and thus be a bit more flattering to my waistline. But honestly, the 10 is great and I may just keep itCons: This dress is too formal and feminine for the exposed zipper look. And the zipper is a heavy coat type thing, too. I'm planning on getting replacing that, if possible.

Wore this dress in royal blue recently for a winter wedding. I received many complements on the dress cut and style! What I loved about it was that I was able to look great without having to wear spanx because of the very forgiving fit. I typically wear a size 10 pant and a 6-8 in dresses and am a 32ddd; I ordered the XL, and it fit great! A little loose around the waist but honestly it was worth it to have something that fit my bust in a classy and modest way. The way the skirt lay gave the illusion of having a rounder backside than what I do, which was an unexpected but pleasant surprise. And pockets? Hello! It was fantastic to be able to carry my cell phone and dance without having to haul around handbag. (I was even able to keep some tissues and lipstick in the other pocket with no weird bulges in the dress.) I have a big phone, and it fit perfectly in the pocket without my worrying it was going to fall out.My only warning: if you get warm easily you might want to pass this one, because it is a nice thick velvet. As someone who is cold easily though it was just another plus for me. :)As for other reviews that said the dress had an odor, there wasn’t one with mine, but I washed it anyways on arrival. Just turned it inside out and put it on delicate cycle and it came out great!

I was pleasantly surprised! The fit and color were so lovely! (I got the deep blue) I got many compliments, my only complaint was that the fabric carried an odd chemical odor when removed from the packaging, I had to launder and air out before wearing. But this is a lovely dress!

The dress is beautiful. The zipper in the back could be better, but all in all its very pretty. The only this is the smell..it smells like fish! I'm trying to let it air out for a few days, but if the smell doesn't go away I'm going to return it.

I wore this dress to a wedding. It is nice heavy fabric, feels durable. Other reviewers had commented that the dress smelled like fish, it definitely does. I put the dress on the hand wash cycle with cold water in the washing machine and hung it to line dry. It took away the smell and the dress was not at all affected negatively by the washing. The color held, the material held, the zipper held. I would highly recommend washing as I had done to get rid of the odor because it really is strong.
