Stanwood Wind SculptureKinetic Copper Dual Helix Spinner

The media could not be loaded. I now have a total of 6 kinetic wind sculptures in my yard from Stanwood, and this newest one I received, Duel Helix is just breathtaking to watch. Not only is it superbly made, but so reflective, the ridges in the copper almost act like diamond cuts, so in the sun, this piece is brilliant and at night we have color morphing spotlights on it and it gives us a reflective light show. Just Beautiful!I assembled it myself, even though the instructions recommend two people, it’s still do-able. I sprayed the blades with clear coat before assembly, which I have done with all my pieces and they all look sparkly and new.One thing to note is that this sculpture is really tall when assembled 7-1/2 ft tall. It is very commanding and attention getting. I recommend you find a spot you can see from your window, so you can enjoy it even while sitting in the house. Also, if you put this in front of your house, I would cement it into the ground and lock tight all the poles together. It’s an investment piece that you’ll want to safe guard from any ‘bad actors”Don’t hesitate on this one. I wish Stanwood would make more designs lie this! Are you listening Stanwood? Sign me up!

The media could not be loaded. Lots to say about this piece of yard artwork. First, it’s absolutely beautiful. It’s spins in a breeze fairly slow, as it should, given it’s not a plastic yard toy. It doesn’t take a large breeze to spin and it will turn slowly in a gentle breeze. It seems to spin more freely with time.It was fairly simple to put together with very good step by step instructions (in color) which make for a straight forward assembly. I gave it four stars for ease of assembly only because in the final assembly steps, it takes two people to get it together. I imagine you could do it without help but it would be very, very awkward. There is a mark on the pole where you drive it into the ground. The instructions then call to drive in three “L” shaped stakes to sturdy the structure. It is well constructed and makes me smile every time I see it spinning in the wind.

Solid and well built. It looks great in our yard. Assembly was not difficult. We love it!

This is a beautiful piece that adds a lot of character to our back yard. Easy to assemble (be sure to use thread locker on all the connections) and set up. The precision bearings are very nice and look like they will prove to be durable and keep the helix spinning nicely for years to come. I drilled a hole into a stump from a tree I took out a few yrs ago, and pounded the copper tube into that ... while I couldn't get it deep to the black mark, it is tight and very secure. Not that I needed them, but I used the included ground stakes as well (they are far too short, in my opinion - they should be at least 2x as long in each direction). The assembly tends to sway in the wind a bit - I suppose if it was deeper into the ground that would make it more rigid, but then the whole thing wouldn't stand as tall and might look funny. I wouldn't trust this in a windstorm, however. Any threat of big wind and I'll take it down ... and will of course put it away for Winter.

Gorgeous, wife loved it,But, We knew they copper would tarnish andtried to clean it with lemon and salt, which workedlike majic, BUT took off the protective coating,ate away at the copper (It's copper plate by the way, not solid copper),and tarnished horribly within minutes.Bought another because so beautiful,but will spray with Enamel Clear coat immediatelyupon instalation to try to save the coper shine.

Beautiful and very well made! This is a very high quality wind sculpture and worth the price. It was a little larger than I expected. It stands about 7’ tall including the stake. Makes a lovely centerpiece for any yard. I ordered 2 additional sculptures because I was so impressed!

The media could not be loaded. The product was well packed and instructions are very clear. Definitely need a 2nd person to help hold while screwing. The poles are heavy duty and hold the spinner in very windy conditions. It appears to have a wonderfully gentle spin in super light wind conditions. Too much storm wind does not spin it too fast. It’s a mesmerizing piece of art!
