Good pump - Short use life

This is a great 12v DC pump for pond fountains in that it works reliably and with the power that is expected. However, the pump lasts only about 1 season (5 months) of 1 hour per day usage. I bought 5 of these pumps since 2016 as I needed to replace the pump each fall after it fails.
