does anyone know if these can be used to regular white sugar also?

I’ve never used mine for white sugar, but I don’t use it. I’ve had my hummingbird for a couple years and it’s doing the job on my (brown) date sugar and I bought a sealed container that comes with it’s own Terra cotta tile in which my regular brown sugar is in, also doing it’s job. I just soaked them in water for 15 or so minutes and patted them dry and it’s been working wonders for as long as I’ve had them. As I said, it’s been a few years and I haven’t really even need to “soak again” but I’m doing that right now! The date sugar was a solid block that I would have had to literally break the glass container to get it out and that’s when I looked and found these. I figured it couldn’t make my sugar any worse so I gave it a shot and I was in awe of this magical terra cotta stone when I stuck a fork in the glass container and scraped up layers upon layers of granules (it still has small clumps but they break up easily. These absolutely saved my brown sugars and it’s been saving them for at least 2 years or more. I would absolutely recommend (at least) one for every kitchen!

Can this be used for salt too???

No ypu don't want moisture in salt...salt clumps bc it is getting wet somehow. Put a little bit of rice in the bowl or shaker. Rice will absorb the moisture and keep salt clump free.
