Well worth the money
Really useful item certainly cools a room quickly. We bought it for my mother who is in a care home which needs heat for many of the rooms but her room was also in full sun all day. She is ofter warm due to her meds but this works so well we need a coat to visit her Hose is just long enough to reach window and the part to fot it into is plant large enough for most normal sized windows It can be a bit noisy when working flat out. The unit is a nice size similar to a kitchen bin and moves really nicely.

Great product cools the room and power efficient
Ok I purchased this product after reading many comparison reviews with this one coming out best overall ! Firstly I will comment like another reviewer did about the handles on the side. These are clearly there for moving the unit around the floor on its wheels. Do not use these to pick the unit up. You must bear hug it with a hand underneath. It is a heavy unit so make sure you have a capable person to help you. I have now used the unit for a few days and this is what I think. It is very good at cooling down the room and quickly if you put the temp down to 16 have the fan on swing and a moderate speed. Once you got the temp down to a comfortable figure I would say around 19/20 then I set it at 20 and it then works alternating between fan and aircon which I have found I have slept comfortably even though the aircon bit is a bit noisy but not so bad I couldnโt sleep. The remote control is handy to have and easy to use. So far I have found this air conditioner user friendly and it does the job. It does come with a windows kit including a zipped material shield that you can use on conventional windows and I have also got it to fit a velux nicely which helps seal where the heat tube needs to go out the window. This tube although very stiff is long enough unlike reviews I have read about others. Having checked my electric consumption itโs not been massive even with lots of use so thatโs a plus. I would highly recommend

Highly recommend, very pleased with this!
This is a rather cute, clean and handy little machine. I got it for my small apartment (approx 3 times the size of the machineโs recommended range). Nonetheless, itโs actually done a great job cooling the whole flat down. When I move it from the bedroom to living room, the bedroom still stays cool for a while. Despite many reviews about the noise, I found it no louder than a regular tower fan on the low setting and perhaps a bit noisier with the high fan setting. Personally, I would be able to sleep through either just fine. The only improvement Iโd be happy to see is a fan swing function but since the cooling is as efficient as promised I donโt find this to be an issue. Worth adding that for the first day, I didnโt even use the external pipe well (the included fittings donโt work well for my pull-in window style) and it still did a great job cooling my flat (and definitely the room). Given the number and extent of heat waves that are increasing all the time Iโm sure this is going to come very handy! Iโm already immensely glad to have this. Final point, it arrived two days early and just the morning after I ordered it so I was over the moon as it instantly improved the quality of my life. With a cat at home, I was also worried that itโs too hot and now I can rest easy knowing my cat is comfortable.

Godsend in current heatwave
We live in a modern flat in London with triple glazed windows. Great for during Winter and we've never had to pay for heating. However, on warmer days the flat retains all heat and ends up hotter than outside with no air flow. Currently with the heatwave the temperature has been over 30 degrees and we've been melting in the flat, unable to sleep during the hot nights. We decided we'd had enough and would invest in a portable air conditioner. We did our research and decided to go with Meaco. Very reasonably priced when you start comparing with others on the market. Also, on the smaller and lighter side when comparing to other units which can be around/over 30kgs. This unit is 23kgs and on wheels so it's easy to push around. We've been moving it from bedroom to living room depending on where we want the AC running. With Amazon the unit arrived in 2 days! Amazing. So easy to set up. We didn't have to read any instructions and had it set up in minutes. It immediately starts to cool the room down. Unexpectedly came with a free window kit compatible with our windows which open inwards. These cost about 20 pounds on Amazon so saved us that additional cost. But in all honesty we were so keen to get started we used the AC without the window seal and it still works fantastically to cool down our bedroom. If you can't be bothered with the faff of the window seal kit don't worry as it still works well! I know some have mentioned that the unit is noisy but all I can say to that is what do you expect from an AC unit. It's going to of course make some noise. We haven't found this to be a problem and we easily can fall asleep to it. My boyfriend and I are ecstatic with our purchase. The rest of the UK will be sweltering over the next week and we'll be relaxing calmly in the cool provided by Maeco. 10/10 would recommend.

Good but very noisy.
MeacoCool MC Series Portable Air Conditioner 12000R. It was very well packaged and easy to remove from the packaging. After cutting all the sticky tape the box just lifted off the unit. Easy to understand instructions and easy to get up and running although I had to make my own seal for the window out of cardboard as I couldn't figure out how to use the one provided for windows. If you have patio sliding doors it would be fine as there is a good kit for sealing that type of door. To quote my wife, "It's good but flipping noisy". That's about it in a nutshell. We bought this just before a heat wave. I didn't have time to research portable air conditioners properly. If I had done, I wouldn't have bought it or any other make. The low decibel, 53dB is only when the fan is on low speed without the cooling compressor running. When the compressor comes on it's flipping noisy. You can't hold a conversation without raising your voices to a level that would be considered shouting and you need to turn your TV volume up a lot. The unit doesn't recirculate the air in the room. It constantly replaces it with air drawn from anywhere it can suck it from. If you close all your windows and doors as per the instructions, it will suck air in through cracks in doors, windows and in my case from down the chimney which made our room smell of soot from when we had a coal fire. From then on I just left the room door slightly open so as not to suck air from down the chimney. Do yourself a favour, before you buy one put a search in, "How do portable air conditioners work?" and have a good read. At least you'll know what your letting yourself in for. They all work in the same way. Having said all that, when it was 36C outside recently, I set it to 23C and it kept my lounge at 23C.

Disappointing
Cheaply made for the price. Arrived with a fault and had to be returned. Extremely loud when in operation. Silent mode does nothing. Cold air is forced up/down, but not left/right. You can't therefore pivot the cold air around the room. Both internal fans are wobbling which is not what you want to see, item is therefore unlikely to last, which is the most likely the reason for the grinding noises. Overall a very disappointing purchase. How did nobody test it to uncover the faults? Internal grills are also bent in multiple places... very poor craftsmanship. The item is heavy and bulky and difficult to return due to size and complex repackaging process.

Life Saver
I rarely leave product reviews - but felt this was important given this current heatwave. My wee cavalier doggie and I were frying in my top-floor attic flat until this baby, Meaco, came along. I have never been so happy to see an Amazon delivery van in my life. My lounge went from furnace to cool pretty quickly - within an hour - and that's after 2 days of consistently horrible indoor temperatures of 30 degrees. I was concerned the unit might be too noisy as I have auditory sensory issues - but it's actually manageable. The cool air is literally a godsend.

Works well and easy to instal
I have only had this unit operational for a few days. Bought in anticipation of more heat waves to come. At the time of writing we have hit the hotest May of the year. it was very easy to instal and comes with the facility to fit different types of windows including a top opening window. I have not bothered yet to enclose the window frame with the exclusion fabfic that prevents air coming back into the room via the open window surround and have just poked the tubing out of the window. I'm glad it comes with a 1.8mtr ducting most of the others I looked at were shorter and would not have been long enough and are probably designed for lower level opening windows. It's easy to operate using the remote control, although I have not checked all the options yet. On the slow setting the noise isn't drastic and you get used to it as background noise after a while. Had the unit been quieter I would have given it a 5 star rating. Having made that comment I have just purchased another unit for my bedroom.
