Works as expected, compact, low power
My Infiniti M35x has Bluetooth, but, only for voice calls. I wanted a solution for streaming music. This product fit the bill perfectly. There are some with a mic, but that could conflict with the car factory Bluetooth. Also, I have wired it internally from the cigarette lighter port. So the adapter gets powered when the car is turned on and powered off when the car is turned off. Caution: this unit is 5V and most cigarette lighter ports are 12V. So, I have a cigarette lighter to USB adapter that is used to power this Bluetooth adapter. I have paired multiple phones. The adapter connects to the last connected phone. If it is a different phone, you can go to the phone Bluetooth settings and initiate the connection. This is fine for me. Sometimes there is a hiss in the speakers at low volumes or if the Bluetooth is paired but not playing anything. This is not the limitation of the Bluetooth, but, ground loop noise. I have not found it to be an issue. There are products available to address this on Amazon as well as other places. I have not measured the power consumption but expect that it will be low power based on The Bluetooth 5.1 spec. When I start the car, the phone is paired to the car’s factory Bluetooth for voice calls and this unit for streaming audio automatically. I am happy with this product. Hopefully, the unit quality holds up, which only time can tell. Will post updates in a few months.

Optical Output Doesn't Work
Very good price for the features advertised, but the optical output does not work. The aux. output works fine, but sound quality using the aux. out of the adapter with my Hi-Fi audio system is not all that great. Optical or digital I/O typically produces much higher sound quality which was the main reason for choosing this device.

Great and inexpensive to upfit an older marine stereo
Our boat has a Kenwood marine stereo with 8 speakers, a subwoofer and two wired remotes; one on the swim platform and another at the Captain's chair. Stereo still performs great but is just old enough that it lacks BT connectivity. All of the accessory inputs are taken for the subwoofer and wired remotes so I needed to find an alternative or replace the whole system. I took a chance on this adapter and it performs perfect. I have the adapter itself plugged into a USB charge port (for power) and then run a cable to the AUX input for the stereo. It connects fast, stays connected and has better range than I anticpated. The short money I paid for this set up is ideal and saved me from having to replace an entire system which would have been about $1K to get the same features I have now with my marine stereo.

Works......but the instructions suck
I did manage to get this working over optical (TV optical to Bluetooth headphones), however the instructions to not tell you how to do this correctly or provide any troubleshooting steps to fix problems. Here is how I got this working. First, you need to plug the optical connection coming from the TV into the TX optical port. Common sense (and every other device out there) would have you go from the TX port on the tv into the RX port on the device. Totally strange. Second, put the TV into optical out mode. Third, when I did this it sounded like a weird pulsing sound. The solution was to put the tv's audio out format into PCM mode. These steps got it working. Pairing with it wasn't to hard. If your using a headphone connection it isn't too hard to get it working. It does have an internal battery, but I'm leaving it plugged in. Range seems to be 10-15 foot max. Not great, but sufficient for my purposes.

Server Solution for Bluetooth and more
Server solution to gain Bluetooth capability, use in conjunction with a USB audio adapter. Will use 2 USB ports (2.0). The USB Audio adapter provides audio output, this adapter plugs into the audio adapter and a USB Port for power and converts audio to Bluetooth output. Works great! So many people complain that they can't get Bluetooth on Windows Server and this is a nice work around for cheap. Should work fine on older TV's using the headphone jack, I've used other brands for that but haven't tried this one as I bought it specifically for the server.

Great for Honda w/o Bluetooth audio
Works PERFECT in my 2012 Honda Accord EX-L. Powered by the USB when the key is on, it transmits my phone's Bluetooth connection to the factory head unit through the AUX cord and plays audio crystal clear! I'm truly impressed and happy with this. It works great with the car's factory Bluetooth function for calls also - this an awesome product! Very versatile.

This is a cool little gadget. I have an older car without bluetooth capability, so I plug this baby into a power inverter, and then plug the audio cable into the car. Seeing as this is bluetooth, it frees up my phone to charge now. It is compact, and doesn't have to hang itself off the 1/8 inch jack like many similar products do. As far as the sound quality, I was surprised at how powerful it is! It puts out a fairly high intensity signal. Much stronger than what my phone can put out. I would not plug headphones into this, as I believe that might be dangerous. Aside from that, it works great so far! Suits my needs perfectly.

Very sleek design compared to alternatives. Transmitter and receiver tested and working. Included all relevant cables in the box, AUX S/PDIF and co-ax as well as micro USB for power. Operating the device is perhaps too simple being limited to only one button and an indicator LED however pairing with the device was quick and painless. For the price this is a fair trade off and maintains the sleek appearance. Range and signal quality are what you'd expect from the Bluetooth standard, no complaints here. Switching between reciever and transmitter modes requires the use of a physical toggle which may be an important note. If you intend to use only one mode you could quite easily hide the device and connect to it as needed but if you're using both modes you'll need to have it somewhere accessible as the toggle switch is quite small and is located on the side of the side of the device.
