Feeling Ripped Off
Wish I had saved my $10.99. That is my biggest emotion about this book. I have read all the Breed books and I have loved this series so much. But apparently Ms Leigh has run out of new ideas and if this is the best she can do should just end this series now. The entire first 2/3rds of the book consist of the H saying he is insane and unstable on every other page and the h feeling betrayed and lost. EVERY OTHER PAGE! Enough already. We get it. It felt like just filler to make a short story into a full length book. What is really sad is that I have waited so long to read Gideon's story and really wanted it to be special. It is not. The whole transmigration of spirit was just botched and confusing. I actually reread one part 3 times trying to figure out exactly what was happening. I never did. Even the sex which Ms. Leigh is usually so good at was routine and lackluster. This could have been an awesome book. Gideon has been built up to be a very special sort of Breed with a real backstory. Even the conflict with Jonas Wyatt was just - phttt. Sadly this will probably be the last Breed book I buy.

Too whiney
I still miss Callan. I don't know how Jonas got to be the favored character but I thought his role should have belong to Callan as pride leader and alpha. Nothing against Jonas. He is entertaining. I would just love to hear about the first family again. How Mernius and David are doing. Anyway about this book. Well 90% of it was spent with Cat beating a dead horse again and again and again. Chapter after chapter. He left me.. waa, waa. You left me.. waa, waa. Where's my teddy bear? Waa,waa. It was 13yrs ago did the woman never grow up? No she was still a little girl looking for a big brother that turned out to be her mate instead. What I don't get is if giving Gideon Cat's blood was sooo bad, why didn't he insist he get blood from his brother who was right there? His twin brother. Would have saved a lot of drama. Would have saved him from madness. Anyway This book has far surpassed the rawness of what the first stories were. I understand they evolved knowing how to handle the mating heat a little better but the rawness of it has been taken away. It's tamed. Tainted with words like biological rape. It shouldn't be. For this story both mates were breeds. In the jungle Cat would have recognized the strength, health and vitality of mating a male like Gideon and submitted immediately. Instead we were forced to deal with something that a therapist should have been called in for. Even when the mate is human. The understanding should be there that the other mate is half animal so if he acts in a primal way it's as it should be. It's not like they are taking mates that don't want them. The attraction is already there. The mating hormone just cuts through the regular BS and allows nature to take it's course. The wildness of an untamed male is more attractive, more hot. Most women love a bad boy who knows what he wants and takes it.

Finally have lots of questions about Gideon answered, and the spirit stuff ended, maybe.
I can't believe I've been reading this series for 30+ books, because you have to read the novellas too, or you miss out on a huge story arc tie up. Anyway lots of others have reviewed this book, I don't exactly understand how so many were confused by it. This one advanced the story arc and cleared up lots of "mysteries" about Gideon the bogeyman of the breeds. I liked it a lot, and appreciate the grammatical and story editing that is in this book, that drove me nuts and pulled me out of the story flow in previous books, didn't happen here. However I will say DON'T think you can start the series here it will make no sense, however it is still one of the best paranormal ideas put into words out there.

Took a while to get into this story.
I found that even though it was good to finally get Cat and Gideon/Graeme's stories', and the intensity of their mating was high, as was the 1 tissue ending- I was very confused and lost until half-way through this book. I also switched my opinion of both characters by the end. I felt Cat was the extemely alone and inhumanely treated baby girl at the beginning, but by the end- poorly treated- yes, but also in total self-denial. Gideon went from an over-whelmed, genius, unempathetic young boy, to a young man that felt too much and had the weight of the world on his young shoulders, while coping with his own inhumane tortures. It was amazing he didn't explode with everything he was dealing with for so many years.I don't know if it's the length of time between stories or just the large number of stories in the Breeds series, but I had a hard time following this through the first half. I think I own all this series up until this point and have been reading her for years but I'm so gratefull to finally buy this in ebook, and to only have paid so little for it. I really wish LL had written these in sets like the new author's do, instead of jumping all over the place, and from breed to breed. It's been really hard to follow for quite a few years now. 3.75 stars because of the ending. Please make the next books available at this price also.

Repetitive & long-winded just okay!
i have been an avid fan of Lora Leigh's and have read all of the Breeds series. i was looking forward to this one as Gideon/Graeme appeared to be a very interesting character and largely he was. however, a lot of the books plus points for me were often overshadowed by the repetition throughout. At times i felt as if i could skim read parts of it and this had me putting the book down a few times. i think if the dialogue was cut back then straight away the story would run at a better pace and have me concentrating on the actual characters and taking more interest in them.i will warn people that this SHOULD NOT be read as a single stand alone title as a lot of what goes on would need to be read and understood from previous books.even though i have read them all i still had to have a little bit of a think back to bits.overall this instalment for me wasn't very good. Gideon/Graeme was the winner and saving grace in this book, and was what essentially kept me reading this story.if i am honest i feel let down- the story was quite underwhelming, yet at the same time had quite an overwhelming price!series order:1. picked it up again because I hate leaving a book unfinished
I bought this book when it came out, skipped lots of pages, put it down, picked it up again because I hate leaving a book unfinished. We are in July 2017 and still reading it. There is nothing drawing the reader to this story, yet it was one that many were looking for. I have obviously read all the others, and must say - an absolute let down, compounded by the high price, make you feel that maybe the author just could not be bothered in writing the book taking into account the readers need to relate to it. Shame. I would not recommend this not even to Lora Leigh keen readers.

Disappointed
This started well but as with previous books I started skipping pages as got bored with the sex being so over drawn out. And not enough time spent on the story and the constance retelling of information which was a disappointed I was looking forward to seeing how Claire and cat would work out and was let feeling let down like it was rushed because there wasn't any room left.I think this will be the last one I'll be buying.

Not the book Gideon deserved
The big bad monster of the breed world was deranged and declared in this book next to Jonas I think Gideon was the character we most wanted to read about, I know I did, but lora turned a monster into a misunderstood hero with a few paragraphs and expected her readers to accept this blatant cop out. Books with characters like the breeds are always going to be tortured and have earned the right to be who they are, lora could only worse than read sherrilyn kenyon, Jr ward and if daniels for tips on how to write books with tortured characters, love the series just feel she has let Gideon down

A little disappointed
I have read most of this series but I can't help feeling that the idea is running out of steam. The earlier stories were brilliant but this latest one is not one of her best. The first part of the story seemed to consist of practically every other character and there were so many names it was confusing and it seemed to be a while before the story took off. A little disappointed.
