"Choo-choo chuggin' cherry" and "The yummy honey bunny"
I borrowed this and a another smoothie book from the library. I preferred this book (and subsequently bought it) because the recipes seem healthier; no extra sugar, honey or other sweeteners besides bananas. Minus 1 star because it doesn't have pictures - my 4-year-old loved looking at the pics in the other book. In this book I have to read the titles which are creative enough to get him excited. I used to think I don't need a recipe book and just threw random fruit in the blender but the recipes include ingredients that I would never have thought about like raw beetroot ("Sweet Beet treat") or nuts. I let my boy help me chop and he gets to put everything in the blender and press the button. Then he proudly brings daddy a glass of 'smoovie' that he himself made! He gets his daily veggies and I get rid of random stuff from our CSA box that I wouldn't know how to cook...

Creative recipes but my kids just don't like them that much
I was very excited about this book and have thought about buying it for a long time. I have been making the more typical smoothie recipes for my kids but I wanted to branch out and try to get some greens into their smoothies. I found a couple of the recipes from this book on the web to try out first and tried them on my kids. I received a lukewarm response from the kids but I really wanted to love this book so I bought it anyway. I will admit we have only made a handful of the recipes from the book so far but each smoothie has been mediocre tasting at best. My kids just won't drink more than a few sips. I am using my Vitamix high powered blender so that is not the problem. And my kids do love some clean smoothies I have been making (e.g. Blueberries, milk and banana or pineapple, mango and coconut water or just plain strawberries and water/ice with a little agave). I just wanted to take it up a notch in terms of variety and health. Perhaps it is just my kids who are being picky but even I don't particularly enjoy the recipes from the book all that much so I cannot blame them (and I am a huge green juice fan who juices at home too). Kudos to the author for the unique recipes though. And I will keep trying a few more recipes....

No photos
This book would be the BEST out there if it had pictures. I bought my 13 year-old niece a ninja prep blender because she's into making smoothies. I also got her an insulated smoothie cup and this book. I chose this book because so many of the others had half the book dedicated to veggie/green smoothies made with wheat germ and kale and other more adult ingredients. I don't know many 13 year-olds who make green smoothies. She wanted the fruit ones and the juice ones -- like the stuff she and her friends get at Robecks and the like. This is one of the few out there that has mostly the juice and fruit recipes. I chose it for that reason. I was very disappointed that it didn't have pictures. It would be a stellar book if it had color photos.

YOU'LL BE SO HAPPY YOU BOUGHT THIS BOOK!
I came across this book at the library and thought I would check it out. After trying 6 of the recipes and enjoying every single one, I knew I would be buying this book. I use it almost every single day. I am hooked on these smoothies. I did not think healthy smoothies could taste this good. My kids love them too, and I am seeing the health benefits in them (better digestion) and also in myself (better skin). Not only do the smoothies taste good, but they look appetizing as well. I'm really impressed with these recipes!

perfect book, to introduce the whole family to the world of smoothies
i am a beginner to the world of green smoothies. i know this has to be good for you . this book presents this concept of entering into a nutrious eating lifestyle in a very appealing way. have not finished the book yet and was telling my primary physcian about this change i was making in my approach to becoming healthier. they were very excited to start the change to their diet and have borrowed my book while i am out of the country for couple of weeks. will finish when i get back and then introduce to the whole family.!!!

Delicious!
I've made many of the recipes in this book and they are really good. My only complaint is that some of the juice ones don't make very big quantities. Even though the recipe states it's a "big batch" recipe it only yields maybe two half cup servings. To me big batch means it makes enough for several full glasses. Great book though, especially if you are new to smoothies and juicing.

Not just for kids!
These smoothies are fun for kids, but they're equally good for adults. I'm on a weight management program which encourages me to eat more fruits and vegetable and less sugar. All of these recipes fit that description, and they taste delicious. I was having a hard time consuming enough fruits and vegetables until I started trying these recipes. I also enjoy the educational comments and descriptions included. They're well written and understandable. I'm learning a lot about nutrition in general. I ended up getting a copy for all my daughters for a Mother's Day gift to them and their families.

Fun
I bought it for a storybook themed baby shower I co hosted. We had books to match each part of the shower, this went next to the drink station. The Mommy loves this book, and even made some of the drinks before baby came. She said she couldn't wait to use it when baby is old enough to have something other then milk!

Not great
I made a few recipes and ended up not liking the smoothies and wasting good food. Some recipe require one cup of lettuce. One cup varies depending how the lettuce sits. It would be more helpful to have specific measures such of grams. Sending the book to the charity shop.

For adults aswell as children!
This is a great book for getting your five a day! Although I bought it for my extremely fussy son, I also bought it with me in mind as I eat a lot of veg but hardly ever eat fruit. Most of the recipes are very simple and tasty. However all the ingredients needed per smoothie can be quite pricey, though I'm sure it will be worth it in the end!

Great for kids drinks. It's awesome for helping them get 5 a day.
Who knew there were so many recipes for smoothies?! Lots of great ideas. My kids have had fun working their way through the recipes and we've even frozen some to make ice lollies or sorbet type slush.

tasty
Tasty smoothies but not always easy to search on ingredients because the smoothies have these 'fancy' names. Other than that, quite happy with it.
