How do you get 3200 watts out of a 15 amps. 115 saw? would it be more like 1800 watts?

3200 watts is the starting watts? The running watts (15A X 120V) would be 1800 watts?

Supposedly. It draws way more than stated. Had to use 6500w generator , then it ran fine.

does this have a soft start?

No, it doesn’t. Mine has been a great saw. I used it to make all the cuts on a stone house. So much more dependable than a gas cut off saw.

Has anyone tried using this saw on a generator? If so, what size generator and was it able to handle the load?

You need a minimum of 15 amps to struggle through, 20 amps for normal operation.
