I rebuilt my Carter YF but it still wouldn't run without a generous amount of choke. I tore it apart and checked everything over a couple times with no improvement. I think the throttle shaft was just too loose resulting in a pretty bad vacuum leak. I finally gave up and went with this Solex carb. I bolted it on, hooked up the gas and had my truck running and idling nicely without any adjustments to the carb. The throttle hookup fit this new carb with no modifications whatsoever.

I bought this carburetor to use on my CJ3B Willys while my original carburetor was being rebuilt. I had to bend the fuel line to get it to line up with the carburetor and relocate the chock and accelerator cables to make it work. I could never get the chock to work and had to manually feed gas down the throat to get it to start and run. I also didn't like how slow it took the carburetor to idle down when removing your foot from the accelerator. It served the purpose but once I got the original carb back and installed, I simply tossed the carb in the trash as i was unable to even give it to another Jeep owner. Unless you are really on the tight budget, I suggest looking for better options

Bolted on, 66 jeep cj5 fired right up. Few minor adjustments and runs great .
