Very easy to install - particularly if you have a mains wired doorbell
I'll be honest, I had a long list of requirements when choosing a doorbell: > HomeKit support (preferably Secure Video) > Mains powered > No subscriptions > Good quality night and day recordings > Quick notifications Now I had to compromise here, there is no HomeKit Secure Video, but there is HomeKit support, and having the doorbell pop up a video on my Apple TV mid programme is great for the mid-match Takeaway. The range of voltages this can take however was the real selling point. My old doorbell was 8VA, inline with British Standard, most wired smart doorbells require at least 12VA if not 16. This can take the lot. You plug a small box in to the chime and the doorbell on the other end and it will tell you what switches to flick to get it right. There is no polarity requirement either, so you can put any wire any where and it works just fine. You even get a spare fuse incase you get it wrong somehow! Just follow the instructions to the letter. The only downside to 8VA supply is set up, particularly for HomeKit, there just isn't enough power available to complete the device handshaking, particularly if the device is fresh on the door and not had chance to charge its batteries. I would highly recommend going through most of the set up with the doorbell attached where you ultimately want it, but then when it comes to HomeKit set up, just remove the security screw and pop it off. You can power it using a standard Micro USB charger in the back, so bring it inside, plug it in to a powered Micro USB cable and complete the HomeKit set up there. It will set up no worries. Then simply remove from the power once set up is complete and get it back on your door. Worked a charm. Once set up, no complaints! I still have my working chime and also the ability to answer remotely, or even hands free via Siri or Alexa.

Unreliable technology. Would NOT recommend!
I've had the Netatmo External Security Camera for 8+ years now, and was really happy with the product (still am!), so thought that I'd add to the ecosystem with the Smart Video Doorbell. I liked the thought that, like the security camera, it didn't need a subscription service to get the full functionality - this, on top of managing both the security camera and the doorbell in one app was appealing. Sounds perfect... in theory. I originally bought a used 'excellent condition' Netatmo Smart Video Doorbell from ebay, from a seller not far from where I live. I installed it, and it worked for about 4 weeks before I started to get an 'insufficient power' notification in the app (this doorbell is wired to the mains). A few weeks after the notification, the doorbell stopped working (including the bell to the chime itself, and any ability to monitor or manage via the app), with a glowing orange LED on the bell itself. I contacted the customer service via the web page and after much back and forth without satisfactory conclusion, I decided to buy a new doorbell (thinking in some way that perhaps as I hadn't bought it new, there was some history with the unit that made it unreliable... having been very happy with the Netatmo security camera, I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt). I bought a second device from Amazon, brand new, and replaced the non-working unit - and was happy to see that it powered up and connected to the network and app. Fantastic. I now had a working doorbell! Fast forward 3 months, and the doorbell has now completely died. No power whatsoever to the doorbell (I've checked the wiring / power feed, and the circuit is good). I might add that throughout the time I've owned this product (both the original ebay bought unit, and the new Amazon bought one), the wireless connection to my router (which is less than 3 meters away) was always showing as no greater than two bars on Wi-Fi strength icon in the app, and regularly dropped out of the network altogether. When the doorbell was connected there was significant lag in the video streaming, and 2-way audio wasn't particularly good quality (for the premium price associated with the product). I've now learned my lesson, and will be switching to another product.

Mostly delivers what is promissed
There seems to be a lot of mixed reviews on here. I had four items that had to be met, which were: 1. Had to natively support Apple HomeKit 2. Did not have a monthly subscription 3. Would work on the existing doorbell wiring and voltage 3. Officially supports the UK. This doorbell covered all of these requirements. I've been using it for the last 12 months and overall I have been happy with it. Installation was simple, video quality is suffificent both during the day and at night to identify the person who rung the bell. It connects to all of the Apple devices within our home and has worked very reliably for me. The reason for it not having 5 stars is that it can sometimes take a bit longer than I'd like to open up the app and connect and it does not support Homekit secure video which was a promissed feature. Still, for my purposes I'd buy it again and would recommend it to others.

No subscription needed!
I bought this one because it was one of not many which doesn’t require any subscriptions It does my private ftp, Dropbox and memory card. Ftp works very well. Issues I had were simply initial setup. It took few days for my device to configure it. I have extensive knowledge about how to install this kind of products. I have followed manuals but it was difficult. However after several reset settings it finally started to work. It does work very well now since I bought it. Quality of video recorder is good. Very rarely it can got upset by something and send fake notifications. In this case its face have to be cleaned and rebooted. The angle is not so wide as competition may offer.Mine is paired with Apple home pod as ring bell as original installation was not compatible to use chime. I had to buy a Netatmo tiny transformer to get power between doorbell and mains. It fits in my original door bell box on the wall so is not visible. I’ve got a feeling that app could be a bit faster to react to doorbell being pressed so it can be responded on time.

You really do not want to buy this product
It looks stylish and the optional angle plate is great for side of door installations. Night and day picture quality (spoiler alert: when it works) is good. Sadly, that is the end of the good news. Installation is complex and adding to an existing HomeKit install is not straightforward. Stability of the installation in terms of it's Wi-Fi connectivity is almost non-existent. Like many IoT devices it will only connect to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, but even with a plain 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network, i.e. no meshing or any other complexities, it will frequently (like every week or two), loose it's Wi-Fi connection and not reconnect, thereby becoming unresponsive to HomeKit. Reconnection involves: 1) Removing the non-responding doorbell from HomeKit, 2) Removing the door bell off the wall, 3) Resetting the the doorbell (paperclip in hidden hole for 20seconds) 4) Putting the bell back on the wall 5) Readding the doorbell to HomeKit Rinse and repeat. Oh and the support is hopeless. Whilst the doorbell has decided to disconnect from the network, it does at least function as a (very expensive) traditional doorbell, so it's not totally useless, and it looks great, but as an IoT product? nah, sorry

Unreliable
The unit is OK when it's working. The problem is that at least 50% of the time it isn't working. The installation was straightforward, the unit has an excellent power supply and a very strong WiFi signal. However, it will frequently cease to respond to video connections. The door bell button still works, so the connection into our HomeKit network is obviously OK and I can always remotely connect to the unit to reboot it, which then restores the video service. There is obviously either a fault with my unit or more likely a bug. Not impressed. There have been several firmware updates that apparently fixed the "lack of video" problem but I beg to differ. It's not fixed. You cannot, at the moment, rely on this device to give you video. It's reliably a doorbell, but not a CCTV camera.

No Homekit Secure Video support and non-existent tech support. Avoid at all costs.
First off this is wired only, making installation much harder than battery powered doorbells. I ended up getting an electrician to do it as the wiring I had wasn't suitable, so bear that in mind first. Once installed I added it to Apple Homekit and immediately noticed that something was very, very wrong. I could view the live feed but it wasn't recording anything. I knew support for Homekit Secure Video was to be added via an update, so I could only assume it wasn't out yet, and until it was my new expensive doorbell was of limited use. Months later and Netatmo have announced that they have stopped developing Homekit Video support. That's it. So I and so many others who bought this on good faith that Homekit support was coming are left high and dry. With Homekit abandoned that leaves the frankly terrible Netatmo app which does record video, but is it's own little segmented walled garden away from all off my other Homekit devices and is a truly terrible piece of software. Some time after installing this it stopped working in Homekit even as a basic live view camera, and fixing this requires removing the doorbell from the wall (seriously) then plugging it into a powered USB charger then holding down a tiny button. Except like everything else on this camera it doesn't work. Netatmo support I don't believe exist anymore, as repeated emails went unanswered. The moral of this is to never, ever trust a company to deliver features via a software update. If they do then great, buy their product, but until they deliver keep your money in your bank account. And as for Netatmo, needless to say they'll never get another penny out of me. Lying to customers is never, ever acceptable. Netatmo lie, and that's a red line.

Well built, fully featured, HomeKit compatible
I spent a long time researching various different options and chose this because it integrates with my other Netatmo products, is HomeKit compatible and fully featured. Not cheap, but well built. I paired it with a transformer and a Honeywell Wireless chime module. Installation was aided as ever by watching some practical videos on YouTube. I love that it rings through on my chime, phone and HomePod. Works well so far. My only observation is that it needs a ‘long press’ to make the connection with the chime

Inconsistent and unstable
I have had this doorbell almost a year now and have had constant issue with getting it to work as expected. While it seems fairly stable in the Apple Home app the Netatmo app shows it constantly offline or wifi issues. I have a ASUS XT8 mesh wifi with perfect connection to all other devices on our network including other cameras. I have also tried using it on its own network on a Fritzbox 7490 and a Apple Time Capsule with identical results. Support has been next to useless as they mostly say it’s connected and seems to be working which is not my experience. I am a very technical user with over 20 years as a software developer so I am very aware on how to troubleshoot network issues. In the 12 months I have had the doorbell I have only been able to answer a ring once on my phone and even then it took over a minute to connect. If your looking for a doorbell for your house I would seriously consider other options. Just a quick look at the official Netatmo forums will show hundreds of people with the same issues and no fixes or response from Netatmo.

Campanello Smart
) altre persone continua a suonare?
