Lawman: The Complete Fourth Season

Great transfers. Great old time show
I love the plots, the acting. Mirror of a different, simpler time, the 1960s. Took me back to my youth. John Russell was really great as marshal Dan Troop.

Great series arrived safely but packaging damaged.
Great western series well produced. Some sloppy production values microphones in frame shadow of the camera on actors faces etc. But the acting is great and the stories are good this is a classic! Glad to have it after all these years. Hope they will do the same for Colt 45.

Great western TV
One of the very best TV Westerns. Dan Troop was just as imposing as Matt Dillon and his deputy, Johnny McCay was also a stronger presence than Chester or Festus. Lily was every bit as good, if not a better, saloon owner than Kitty. But, Gunsmoke lasted 16 years longer...go figure.

Missing episodes 1 & 2 ???
Not the compete season as advertised -missing "Ep01 Trapped" and "Ep 2 The Juror". My Season 04 set begins with Ep03 "The Four".I understand from reading an earlier review, those episodes are included with Season 03. So this can be confusing and is important for buyers to be aware of.Five stars because the series is excellent.

great classic western
Even though the TV show Lawman is over 50 years old, it still holds up today. This is one of the great classic westerns. There are some great guest stars, like Joel Grey, Roberta Shore, Jack Elam, Chad Everett, Peter Breck, and John Carradine. There are 41 half hour episodes for season 4 (all in black and white), and there are NO English subtitles nor any extras. Great show, highly recommend.I feel very fortunate I was able to meet Peter Brown several times at Western Legends Roundup (held every August in Kanab, Utah), as this was one of my favorite shows when I was growing up.

Poor Miss Lilly
John Russell and Hugh O'Brien (The Legend of Wyatt Earp) were very convincing as straight down the line and tough lawmen I suppose back in the late 1950s and early 1960s romances weren't allowed to bloom on tv shows. Poor Miss Lilly, after four seasons she never did get her man despite all of her hints and endless attempts at seduction. Marshall Troop, what in the blazes is the matter with you?

excellent, fast
My generous rating is inexact. To be exact, I start by stating, del. svc. excellent, fast. The dvd, 4th & last of series run when I was a kid, and tv western shows were King. Have bought all in rapid succession, and thus have not viewed all as yet. Never-the-less, 1st class show in it's day.
