No Surrender!: Seven Japanese WWII Soldiers Who Refused to Surrender After the War

Although I knew this book would be a quick compilation of stories, I still wanted to read it, especially after reading Hiroo Onada's book. I found it still very interesting and it just sort of gave me closure on the stories of Japanese soldiers fighting until the very end like that. It's so hard to believe that they never knew until the end, all that had happened to Japan. I still believe they were very brave men (however misguided for sure) but imagine being separated from family and friends for so many years and still be willing to fight on... amazing. Glad I read the book.

Great collection of accounts...facinating subject!

I literally read it from cover to cover, I could not put it down. For a brief moment I stepped back in time and walk in these men's shoes, however misguided.

Save yourself some money and browse Wikipedia on the subject. Missing and repeated words also detract from the reading experience and one can't help suspecting that this copy/paste job was done in a hurry. This has 'vanity press' written all over it. Not for serious scholars but it may appeal to 'tabloid' historians.

Year's ago I read this book and after reading this edition, realized a lot of the original story was left out including the photos. The story has left out many details which I am still familiar with along with the photos. Despite these omissions, was still good reading.

A collection of Wikipedia information. No first-hand interviews or insights. No pictures. No reason to buy/read it

Horrible book . Don't buy a waste of money

This is a good collection of stories and it is a good read for anybody interested in holdouts after WW2. I agree with other reviews that each story is no more detailed than a wikipedia article but this is a cheap book and its nice to have many stories altogether
