Work great like always. Most people think they don’t work because they don’t know how to use them properly. if you don’t set them up the correct way, with the correct amount of bait, and in the correct orientation, they won’t work. remember, that little “v” shapes are on the copper piece is where the bait goes, you only need a tiny bit or else it will offset the trap and it will not snap when it needs to. also, these traps NEED to be placed with the bait side closest to the wall, and the trap needs to be perpendicular to the wall while touching the wall. rodents are prey animals who are thigmophilic, meaning they usually always travel with one side of their body touching a wall. they rarely ever travel out in the open away from the wall because they are prey animals who need to be wary of getting eaten. traveling while touching the wall gives them a sense of security and cover from predators. this is why the traps need to be touching a wall with the bait facing the wall with the trap perpendicular to it. if you set it this way, the rodent will naturally come in contact with it when travelling their usual routes. if the bait is not facing the wall, they will climb over it. you do not need to be a pest control professional to buy these traps. But you do need to be a pest control professional, or have the knowledge of one, to make them work effectively. This is the reason why most people set these traps and they don’t work.

Had. Had a rat problem. Bought a ton of different traps. These are the ONLY ones that were effective. TomCat traps are garbage and only caught on my dumb curious dog, bait stations did nothing, glue traps just gave the rats a Brazilian. If you have a rat problems I feel bad for you son, get 99 Victor traps and you'll have none.

Picked up the Victor Metal Pedal Rat Trap M200 and it’s about as no-nonsense as it gets. No gimmicks, no setup learning curve—just bait it, set it, and step away. This thing is fast. Not “maybe it worked” fast—definitely worked fast. It’s one of those products where you immediately understand why the design hasn’t changed in forever. Build is simple but solid, and I do like that it uses FSC-certified wood—nice touch without overcomplicating anything. Only warning: respect it when setting. This is not the place for distractions or overconfidence unless you want a quick lesson. If you want something reliable that just handles the problem without fuss, this does exactly that.

Peanut butter and time these do the trick!!! Vector always makes a super duper product. Great design and work over and over.

I’m a repeat buyer of these rat traps—unfortunately, thanks to the reality of living near the river and dealing with river rats. That said, these traps have consistently been our go-to solution. They’re inexpensive enough that we can set one up on an empty kitchen trash bag, and once a rat is caught, we just toss the whole thing. I just use a little bit of a squeezable peanut butter on the area where you put the pin in and it has been successful for us. Buying a squeezable peanut butter just makes the whole process. Also easier without getting utensils dirty and sticky.Highly recommend that method—it makes cleanup so much easier. The traps are great quality, super easy to set up, and have been very successful in catching multiple rats in our attic. For anyone dealing with persistent rodent issues, especially in outdoor or waterfront areas, these are a solid choice.

THESE ARE THE ONES. I like these because they are slightly sketchy to set. The yellow paddle versions, do not work nearly as well. These are reliable and the vermin are not able to eat the snack off the trigger without tripping it. Super glad these are available.

Unacceptably poor quality. I'm down to 6/12 traps and have yet to have them trigger for a rat. The staple holding the locking bar has come out on 4 of the traps. One trap has the snap bar bent poorly, where it is too short to stay assembled. As soon as you start to load the spring the "axle" slips out of the loop on the end. Forget about using them outdoors if they are exposed to sun or water. The wood will warp and split and the whole thing falls apart. Oh, and I'm not sure how it happens, but the copper components rust--not green like copper tarnishing, but red like iron. I want them to build a better rat trap like they used to.

They arrived in a cardboard box and without retail packaging to cut waste and cost. The M200 traps are 3.5” wide X 7” long, easy to setup and use. Traps works well for its intended purpose, durability depends on where the traps are located. They do not last very long when they are out in the elements but will last over a year when it’s under a covered location. Longevity and durability will vary depending on the number of customers they have attracted.

I should have read the reviews. Like others I have received one trap when the product is clearly advertised as a pack of 12. Now I am unsure how to proceed as I don't want a return or a replacement - I want the other 11.
