Does the lamp work with wall switch?

If the lamp is plugged into a wall outlet that is controlled by a light switch, yes. Just leave the lamp on all of the time, then you can turn it on and off with that light switch on the wall.

Is the base black as pictured, or does it come in chrome similar to the other lamps like this?

It is black....but I LOVE this lamp. Bought it just because the house is one of those old ones with no wiring in front room. It is bright!!!! With three varying levels of bright! I have it behind a couch in the corner so you don't see the base. You could also cover it with plants. I get so many compliments about it!

Is this lamp a dimming lamp?

No it doesn’t dim. You can choose to have 1,2, or all 3 light up though.
