ShaktiMat Acupressure Mat for Tension Release & Relaxation, Level 2 Black

As described. My husband and I wanted a mat that would work for both of our pain tolerance and not need to get the next depth too soon. So we opted for the mid level. I have a higher pain tolerance, but he has used multiple times and enjoys the relaxation after the initial few minutes of discomfort. I have used a few times and my shoulder to butt fit on the mat and use the neck pillow. The first few minutes are a challenge but with a meditation or nice music I can breathe through it. I’ve only used on the floor, but am going to use on top of blankets to try and off load the increased pressure dispersement on butt and upper back due to my lumbar arch. My husband has used k. Top of a mattress and like it. The size works well for both of us. He is 6’7 and I 5’6”. He uses for the back only. Quality and appearance is classy.

When I ordered my Shakti mat, I really wasn't expecting much. I saw a sponsored ad for it, and I read all the "this hurts but if you stick through it, it'll be worth it" comments and I thought, sure why not, I'll try it. I work an office job and am battling some health things, so my tension is through the roof. I will try anything to help with that. So...bed of nails? Sure why not. Totally glad I did. I'm using the original shakti mat (not the "light" one nor the "advanced"). I use it on the floor and I don't use a fabric barrier. The first time I used it, laying down on it was a bit of a shock (also, I watched a video of how to lay on it and how to get back up...I highly recommend doing that). It was very, very sharp and while it was uncomfortable, I wouldn't say it was painful. Now, I have a pretty high threshold for pain so I can see where this wouldn't be for everyone, but for me, it was quite tolerable. After about 15 seconds, the sharpness went away and ultimately I ended up very relaxed. I spend usually 15-20 minutes on the mat. Usually I listen to music, sometimes I'll do a guided meditation. But no matter what I do, I find that after that time has elapsed, I feel much less frantic, and much more relaxed after having laid down on the shakti mat. Now whether that's due to being on 6,000 pins, or whether it's due to 15-20 minutes of quiet peace, I can't say for sure. But I can say that meditation on its own has never had such an effect. So for me, the combination is working. I highly recommend trying this, if you're like me and you carry tension around like it's your job. Side note: I bought the pillow too but it doesn't work for me. I'm very short (5'0) so the pillow is too high for me to rest comfortably. I realized, though, that because I'm short, I can put a normal pillow under the end of the shakti mat and I still get full coverage from my lower back all the way up my neck to my head (I prefer it to stop at the top of my neck, so this is actually perfect).

10/10 would recommend for back pain and stress relief I’ve seen adds for this for the last year or so and finally decided to buy one well worth the money only downside it doesn’t come with a storage sack or anything

There's nothing wrong with this mat. It was just so painfully spikey. I had to return it. It worsened my back pain. But friends told me it really helped them.

This mat is very effective at relieving muscle pain. After laying on it for at least 20 minutes, your back will naturally feel like it has been on a heating pad, and you'll feel loosened up. Both my husband and I have our own Shakti mats, so we can Shakti together at bedtime. We have both fallen asleep on them more times than I can count. I've got very sensitive skin when it comes to being touched. This is very intense for the first 5-10 minutes, but then it's bliss! Make sure you follow the directions on Shakti's website or app and you won't be disappointed! The quality of materials on this Shakti mat is excellent. The fabric is thick and high quality. The spikey parts are snapped onto a backing piece. They're not glued, so you don't have to worry about them randomly falling off. Pro tip: hang it on Command hooks to let it breathe and keep it out of your way.

I just got this mat after my cat defiled my old mat. I got the level two. My previous mat was a generic cheap one and I will say that the level two Shakti has sharper spikes and is more intense. I’m happy with my choice that I didn’t go to level three. This one does take me about five minutes where it’s a little uncomfortable before my body gets used to it. And I’m happy with that because I feel like it should be a little uncomfortable at least initially. My cat has seen the sharper spikes out of the corner of his eye, and I know he’ll stay away this time. The price is a bit higher than a generic Matt, but I do think the spikes are different and I am happy with my purchase. The mat itself also has slightly more padding.

I’ve only used this for a week but have noticed reduced sciatic pain and I have slept much better over the last few nights. I now make this part of my pre-sleep routine for 20 minutes whilst reading a book and I find I’m looking forward to those 20 mins each day

difficile spiegare l’effetto benefico dello shakti mat se non lo avete mai provato, Io ho preso questa versione perchè piu lunga ma ho usato la classica per anni, decontrae, rilassa, allevia i dolori e addirittura induce il sonno (io devo puntare la sveglia dopo 15 minuti altrimenti mi addormento e ci resto troppo a lungo). Prezzo leggermente inferiore a quello del sito ufficiale.

凄く痛いけど、だんだん慣れてきて寝落ちすると言われていましたが、全くその通りでした！ 疲れている方、リラックスしたい方にオススメだと思います。 私はマットのみ購入しましたが、背中がおわたまた後に枕の上に置いて頭や首をやるようにしています。 セットで買わなくて良かったと思います。

This is my third acupressure mat and my first shakti brand. Should have started with this, well constructed and so much more intense. Worth the extra spend.
